CarX Street is a 2022 racing video game developed and published by CarX Technologies. It was released on 22 April 2022 for mobile devices, and on 29 August 2024 on Windows. The game is set in the fictional "Sunset City" and is similar in gameplay to the Need for Speed series. It is the fifth installment in the CarX series.[1]

Gameplay

CarX Street is a racing video game set in an open world environment. The game features unlicensed cars with their badges removed and are referred to by 3 or 4-letter names. The game revolves around illegal street racing, with the goal being to complete races to earn money, which is spent on cars and houses (more space to store cars), similar to Test Drive Unlimited. The player is also required to fill up their car with gasoline when it is running low. They can choose between "Standard gas" or the significantly more expensive "Sport gas", which gives their car a performance boost.[1] This element of the game has been widely praised but also widely criticized.

Reception

[edit]

CarX Street received mostly positive reviews. Multiplayer.it calls it an "amazing open world-based racer" with "a very nice looking city".[2]
