Stroumpi is a small village in the heart of Paphos District of Cyprus and exactly in the middle of the distance between Paphos and Polis. The name of the village is said to be coming from its founder, a man called "Stroumpos" or by the view of the mountains around the village (stroumpoula - rounded). The village is well known for the annual "Dionysia" wine festival taking place at the end of August, named after Dionysos the ancient Greek god of wine. There was also "Dionysos" a volley team that was based in Stroumpi that played in Cyprus's first league.

Stroumpi is a traditional village and it is known for its hospitality.

The former settlement of Stroumpi had been destroyed by an earthquake in 1953 leaving behind many casualties. The village was rebuilt shortly after the disaster in an area adjacent to the original.
