[edit]

As some of you users know, scoooter3 sent some nasty notes on the talk pages of a few of you users as I noticed. He said he would NEVER try Wikipedia again. WELL...THAT WAS A TOTAL LIE! He has created a new account and is running it! His new username is koo-koo-klock-copyer. If you want to post anything on his talk page you are welcome to! In case you have not noticed, he destroyed the last way to contact himself/herself. The last way was to use his eBay username witch he should have posted below. He edited it and took away his eBay username, the last way to contact him. If you have any problems please say so on my talk page. And just a little note: scoooter3 is still using his first username: scoooter3. To go to koo-koo-kloock-copyer(scoooter3)'s talk page User_talk:Koo-koo-klock-copyer<--CLICK. Also scoooter3 got in trouble 3 times on Wikipedia! He used the usernames: scoooter, scoooter2, scoooter3, And now koo-klock-copyer!

Information icon Hello, and thank you for your contributions to Wikipedia. I've noticed that you have been adding your signature to some of your edits to articles, such as the edit you made to List of Hot Wheels 2014 Super Treasure Hunts. This is a common mistake to make and has probably already been corrected. Please do not sign your edits to article content, as the article's edit history serves the function of attributing contributions, so you only need to use your signature to make discussions more readable, such as on article talk pages or project pages such as the Village Pump. If you would like further information about distinguishing types of pages, please see What is an article? Again, thank you for contributing, and enjoy your Wikipedia experience! Thank you. A tag has been placed on List of Hot Wheels 2014 Super Treasure Hunts requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G12 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article or image appears to be a clear copyright infringement. This article or image appears to be a direct copy from http://www.hwtreasure.com/2014-super/. For legal reasons, we cannot accept copyrighted text or images borrowed from other web sites or printed material, and as a consequence, your addition will most likely be deleted. You may use external websites as a source of information, but not as a source of sentences. This part is crucial: say it in your own words. Wikipedia takes copyright violations very seriously and persistent violators will be blocked from editing.

If the external website or image belongs to you, and you want to allow Wikipedia to use the text or image — which means allowing other people to modify it — then you must verify that externally by one of the processes explained at Wikipedia:Donating copyrighted materials. If you are not the owner of the external website or image but have permission from that owner, see Wikipedia:Requesting copyright permission. You might want to look at Wikipedia's policies and guidelines for more details, or ask a question here.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Click here to contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be removed without delay. Warning icon Hello Scoooter3, and welcome to Wikipedia. While we appreciate your contributing to Wikipedia, there are certain things you must keep in mind about using information from your sources to avoid copyright or plagiarism issues here.

  • You can only copy/translate a small amount of a source, and you must mark what you take as a direct quotation with double quotation marks (") and a cited source. You can read about this at Wikipedia:Non-free content in the sections on "text". See also Help:Referencing for beginners, for how to cite sources here.
  • Aside from limited quotation, you must put all information in your own words and structure, in proper paraphrase. Following the source's words too closely can create copyright problems, so it is not permitted here; see Wikipedia:Close paraphrasing. (There is a college-level introduction to paraphrase, with examples, hosted by the Online Writing Lab of Purdue.) Even when using your own words, you are still, however, asked to cite your sources to verify information and to demonstrate that the content is not original research.
  • Our primary policy on using copyrighted content is Wikipedia:Copyrights. You may also want to review Wikipedia:Copy-paste.
  • If you own the copyright to the source you want to copy or are a designated agent, you may be able to license that text so that we can publish it here. However, there are steps that must be taken to verify that license before you do. See Wikipedia:Donating copyrighted materials.
  • In very rare cases (that is, for sources that are public domain or compatibly licensed), it may be possible to include greater portions of a source text. However, please seek help at the help desk before adding such content to the article. 99.9% of sources may not be added in this way, so it is necessary to seek confirmation first. If you do confirm that a source is public domain or compatibly licensed, you will still need to provide full attribution; see Wikipedia:Plagiarism for the steps you need to follow.
  • Also note that Wikipedia articles may not be copied without attribution. If you want to copy from another Wikipedia project or article, you can, but please follow the steps in Wikipedia:Copying within Wikipedia.

It's very important that contributors understand and follow these practices, as policy requires that people who persistently do not must be blocked from editing. If you have any questions about this, you are welcome to leave me a message on my talk page. Thank you. Ahecht (TALK

Your contributions

[edit]

Scoooter3, I've just reviewed all your contributions and all the pages you have created appear to be cut and paste from internet pages about Hot Wheels. Please understand that all Wikipedia content has to be written in the editors own words and wholescale copyright breach by copying and pasting is not allowed. As has been explained to you above, limited copying is permissible in certain circumstances, but what you have copied goes well beyond what is acceptable. I see from this edit that you were pointing out that there was no link between the Wikipedia page you created and the hwtreasure.com page. That's true but it's not the point; the content on the Wikipedia page was a direct copy of hwtreasure.com and that is a breach of copyright of the person who created hwtreasure.com. Now if you are the author of hwtreasure.com and the other sites that have been copied from then for your materials that have been published elsewhere before being published on Wikipedia you need to follow the process detailed at Donating copyrighted materials. That still wouldn't get round any issues of the need to support the content with reliable sources but it would, if followed correctly, get over the issues about the copyright.

It is not an excuse to say you couldn't work out if material was copyrighted or not. Unless there is explicit text or licencing applied to the source page that says materials have been placed into the public domain then the assumption will always be that they are copyrighted and it is your responsibility to prove that the materials you are using are public domain. Being on the internet is not public domain.

Please feel free to ask questions either here or at my talk page but please note that this message is a friendly but final warning and any further postings of copyright material will result in you being blocked from editing. Nthep (talk) 16:34, 9 October 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Sockpuppet investigation

[edit]

Hi. An editor has opened an investigation into sockpuppetry by you. Sockpuppetry is the use of more than one Wikipedia account in a manner that contravenes community policy. The investigation is being held at Wikipedia:Sockpuppet investigations/Scoooter3, where the editor who opened the investigation has presented their evidence. Please make sure you make yourself familiar with the guide to responding to investigations, and then feel free to offer your own evidence or to submit comments that you wish to be considered by the Wikipedia administrator who decides the result of the investigation. If you have been using multiple accounts (in a manner contrary to Wikipedia policy), please go to the investigation page and verify that now. Leniency is usually shown to those who promise not to do so again, or who did so unwittingly, but the abuse of multiple accounts is taken very seriously by the Wikipedia community.
