Your interest in a People's Party of Tibet article

[edit]

Greetings,

You recently attempted to add content at Category:Tibetan diaspora. Your edit has been reverted (undone) because the space where you wrote it is a WP:Category, which is page which holds other pages, not a place just to write. If you want to create an article, you can use the Wikipedia:Article wizard to request an article be made.

I would not suggest you write the article yourself, as the text you have given below is completely not encyclopedic in nature. It is instead a "mission statement" for your organisation, so it does not meet Wikipedia's standards of WP:Neutral point of view. This content also does not provide any footnote to a neutral and reliable source (not blogs, Facebook, the page of the organisation itself, etc.), so if you were to create an article with just this text, it would be speedily deleted for failing to meet the standards of WP:Notability (organizations and companies).

Further, since you are evidently writing on behalf of the PPT, and even your username reflects such, it would really be a WP:Conflict of interest for you to write such an article.

I'm not saying this to discourage you from using Wikipedia, but to help you better understand how WP works. If you think there should be an article about the People's Party of Tibet, my best suggestion would be to use the Article Wizard (linked above) to request an article, and also to post at Wikipedia talk:WikiProject Tibet explaining your request there as well. At the Talk page, make sure to explain why there should be an article in a neutral manner (not how noble the goal is, how good the people, but the political significance), and you will help your cause greatly if you can provide neutral sources covering the PPT. At a rough glance at Google, it appears the Tibet Post has several articles that mention them, so I would include links to those articles (and a brief sentence explaining the title/date/source of the article) in your request.

Fundamentally, if you are a member of PPT you should not be heavily involved in any article about PPT. You can request the article, you can prevent people from vandalizing the article, but under no circumstances should you add personal opinion, subjective perspectives, etc. into the article, or it could be removed or deleted as a WP:Conflict of interest.

I would encourage you to learn more about Wikipedia in general, and a great place to start is the Wikipedia:Tutorial. If you have any questions, you can also hit the "talk" button next to my name in my signature, and post a question on my Talk page and I'll help you out.

Thanks for your interest in Wikipedia, and please understand that while we have no objections against an article about the PPT, it would not be appropriate for a member/advocate to write it. I hope you'll file a request for an uninvolved/neutral editor to write the article, and I hope you'll stick around to do some basic editing on topics of interest to you (but not topics of personal involvement due to neutrality) in order to better understand Wikipedia!
