{{nowrap|Hull Kingston Rovers}}

[edit]

Hi Josh the newcastle fan, could I please ask a favour of you? You're correct, I'm using the Chrome browser, and the {{nowrap|Hull Kingston Rovers}} in the infobox does appear to cause the years of the Mickey Paea to wrap onto 2-lines. However, on other similar articles, e.g. Sam Smith (rugby league), {{nowrap|Hull Kingston Rovers}} doesn't appear to wrap the years. Would it be possible for you to have a quick look, to see why this might be the case? Best regards DynamoDegsy (talk) 15:55, 12 March 2017 (UTC)[reply]

I am unsure, it just started to happen out of the blue the last few months. Either way, I think we should be aiming for keeping the team names and years on one line as the priority. Josh the newcastle fan (talk) 09:49, 15 March 2017 (UTC)[reply]

The article St Johns Eagles has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

Unsourced page for an amateur club fails WP:GNG and WP:NORG as is.

While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, pages may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the page to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. Flags in European current templates

[edit]

Hello there, I have been asked by another member of WPRL to widen the conversation on "Flags in European current templates", in the hope to gain a wider consensus. I imagine that this message may well never be read, dismissed, see me lose support, potentially gain some or take the discussion forwards. Please do take the time to read the discussion at Wikipedia_talk:WikiProject_Rugby_league#Flags_in_squad_templates if you can, but the crux of my position is that the flags are prevalent elsewhere, are consistent with usage by the MOS, and their implementation for their rugby league national squad/team or representative nationality, is in line with their intended purpose. The crux of the remove side would be an IP editor may interpret a flag as indication of birth, give too much credence to the nation, and the decision was made previously. To remove them from all rugby league templates when there is a limited conversation would seem more than a little unfair I would say, hence the attempt to reach out. I'm quite happy to voted down, but would appreciate a few more voices to the discussion, else it would seem quite wrong to move from the majority into the minority.Fleets (talk) 19:52, 13 July 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Hey Josh, do you mind adding your !vote to the above discussion - as the more voices we have the quicker we can (hopefully) get it resolved. Thanks, Mattlore (talk) 04:40, 12 August 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Jack Johns

[edit]

Hi Josh, after a search I decided Jack met the GNG requirements and so have started an article at Jack Johns (rugby league). Mattlore (talk) 02:04, 20 October 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Peter Malcolm

[edit]

Hi, Josh. I just wanted to let you know that I moved the page that you created about Peter Malcolm to Peter Malcolm (rugby league), in order to disambiguate it from one I recently created about an American rugby union player of the same name. The wikilink on your user page now points to a disambiguation page. I would change the link myself, but I didn't want to step on any toes! All the best, ebbillings (talk) 15:56, 27 April 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Politically correct words

[edit]

I would just like to know, Is using words like "Dropped" and "Wooden Spoon" something that are too offensive to be used when editing?. I just notice whenever I put it in, people change it to either "replaced" or "last place" etc.

[edit]

Is it possible to get The North Sydney Bears logo re-uploaded back to it's wikipedia page. The logo I uploaded was there for months before a new user removed it and put another logo which was subsequently removed for copyright violations. I don't have a good enough computer to upload the logo again. I know you are good with editing etc so maybe you could help?.

Hi Josh this might seem rude to ask you to edit something but I was notifying you since you go for the Knights that the coach of Newcastle is incorrect still on the List of current NRL coaches page it says Nathan Brown and it is now Kristian Woolf I struggle to edit these types of pages because I often stuff it up and I thought you would be a person who would like to do so. Personally I am a Knights supporter

Newcastle Knights Women

[edit]

Hello Josh, Last week I created separate NRLW pages for three of the NRL clubs that have women's teams

Given your username, and creation of pages for multiple NRL and NRLW Knights players, I was wondering whether you would like to create a separate Newcastle Knights Women page?

Note, that I used the suffix 'Women' rather than {NRLW}' as several pages previously created for women's super league teams used this convention

Regards, John C. Moriarty (Nhoj1898)

Sorry for the late reply, yeah I can create that one. Will get around to it when I can. Josh the newcastle fan (talk) 12:24, 9 August 2022 (UTC)[reply]

IP usage

[edit]

Hi there. I recently noticed that you've been editing with an IP (beginning with 2001:8003:26D7:7800) in conjunction with your main account. While you aren't being disruptive, your actions may violate WP:LOUTSOCK. I'm not sure if it does, but if so, it could mean getting blocked. I'm just letting you know, you are not in trouble or anything, but you may want to stop using your IP and solely use your own account. If you know this does not violate anything, let me know and I'll understand. Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. An automated process has detected that when you recently edited 2023 Newcastle Knights season, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page David Armstrong. Such links are usually incorrect, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of unrelated topics with similar titles. (Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.)
