L.A.C.A._State_of_New_York

[edit]

I dare you delete L.A.C.A. - DO YOU KNOW ITS PURPOSE? - THIS ORGANIZATION WAS THERE ON 9/11 AND OTHER DISASTERS. —Preceding unsigned comment added by ChaplainLACA (talkcontribs) 01:41, 14 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]

It has not been deleted, please hold on... Iunaw 01:54, 14 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Reading it again nonsense doesn't apply but the whole article has to be rewritten: "After receiving a calling from God", "God has allowed him to..", "He has seen many wonderful things become possible", "With the help of the Lord, he has also..", Through the doors that God has allowed to be open", "our nation is in desperate need of healing", "He believes that God has placed a burden in his heart". There's nothing left if you remove non-encyclopedic content from the article but please rewrite it, it would be good to have it on Wikipedia. A welcome-template has been added to your talk page Iunaw 02:31, 14 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Your signature

[edit]

Hello, just a friendly note: I noticed that your signature didn’t render completely on my display and, on closer inspection, found that you use the OpenSymbol font. I’ve used hundreds (if not thousands) of typefaces over the years and this is my first encounter with this font. I suspect that only a very small fraction of Wikipedia users will have that font installed which will cause your signature to display in a way you didn’t intend. You might want to redesign it when you get a chance. Cheers! —Travistalk 01:55, 16 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]

I know, thank you! The signature is shown in two different forms depending on the software you are using, and you can consider it an Easter egg. The OpenSymbol font is common in the FOSS universe. It is installed by default on Linux computers and comes bundled with Openoffice.org too. It does actually display in the intended way, either with nice squares or with the OpenSymbol characters. I understand that the squares are sometimes considered something bad (lack of the involved font) but they are a nice decoration too! Thank you for your interest Travis! Iunaw 02:34, 16 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Disruption

[edit]

This only resurrects and perpetuates disruption, there's nothing in that discussion that is relevant to building an encyclopedia and Wikipedia is not a social networking site. Either you re-close it or I will. FeloniousMonk (talk) 15:42, 17 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]

You can close the MfD discussion yourself if you want, i do not think it is appropriate to do it after only 24h, again, and without reaching consensus or any acceptable compromise. As i said it is the appropriate place to discuss it and it avoids having the same discussion again and again all over the place. If you think that there is nothing more to address here, go and close it. Zillions of other userboxes are likely to follow per the same reasoning, as most of them do not meet WP:USERBOX either and Wikipedia is not a social networking site! Iunaw 16:02, 17 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Oskar71

[edit]

Hello, thank you for your remarks. I am mainly working at the German Wikipedia, because my native language is German and I have not very good English knowledge. So I create only small articles or minor changes in the English Wikipedia, but always with scientific and good literature. Best wishes --Oskar71 (talk) 22:40, 24 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]

I've seen it, keep up the great work! Und viel Spaß in der englischen Wikipedia! Im moment bin ich nur hier, aber wir sehen uns noch -irgendwann- in de. :) Bis bald! Iunaw 23:09, 24 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]

[edit]

Chelation therapy for Autism

[edit]

Hey There! I have absolutely no idea what I'm doing. The article I posted was for a graduate level class at Vanderbilt University but my partner and I did not know how to incorporate our paper into the current article about Chelation Therapy. If you wouldn't mind helping that would be great! Our grade is based on the content not the Wikipedia aspect, our professor thought it would be a good idea to post the information here to share it with the public. Sorry for deleting those things earlier, i really have no idea what i'm doing here! Thanks! Anne Louise —Preceding unsigned comment added by Sewellal (talkcontribs) 01:21, 28 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Don't worry, most users have some trouble on their first article :) I'll be happy to help. Let's continue on your talk page Iunaw 01:36, 28 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Article Deletion Inquiry

[edit]

Hi!

I hope that this is the right place to contact you - and that you are the right person to talk to!

I am attempting to create an article about a product - I am attempting to do so without advertising, but in an encyclopedic fashion. I have seen such articles posted for other products and am trying to use those as guidelines.

I was also in the process of creating the article when my laptop crashed and by the time I got it back up the article has been deleted.

I intend to read over the links that you have sent - I read some prior to starting an article, but not all. Could you tell me what about what i have written is making it blatant advertising instead of encyclopedic?

Thanks!

Yes, it is :) I'd first read all relevant guidelines (notability, neutral point of view, coi, etc) and look at other similar articles. I don't remember the exact contents of the article, but the overall impression is that it was only here to promote that product. If you have a conflict of interest it would be best to leave the editing of that article to another user. Another option is to recreate it on your userspace and ask someone to publish it after checking that it is notable, sourced, not biased, etc. If you have any other question leave me a message and i'll be happy to help. You can add anytime {{helpme}} on your talk page too, and someone will answer you shortly. Iunaw 01:59, 29 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Thank you very much for your help! I will take another look at it tomorrow and see if I can make it more neutral. I have a few tips to add from the guides that I have been pointed to. I will try placing it on my user page and seeing if someone would be kind enough to take a look at it for me. How can I access the script for the article at this point?

Thanks again!

LadyHawk89 (talk) 02:05, 29 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Do not forget to read Wikipedia:Notability too! User:iridescent will recreate the article here: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/User:LadyHawk89/LiquidApps . I'll take a look at it -tomorrow- if you want Iunaw 02:36, 29 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Oh thank you so much! I greatly appreciate your help. I am truly trying to do this in the spirit of wikipedia! LadyHawk89 (talk) 02:40, 29 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]

You are welcome :) It can take some time until it's done, we'll take a look at it later/tomorrow Iunaw 02:49, 29 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]

I think that maybe the best thing is for me to start by stripping it down, and then maybe we can look at one section at a time? Please let me know when you are available and if you think that this is a good method. Thanks again for your help! LadyHawk89 (talk) 14:50, 29 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Iunaw, sorry I got the name of the deleting admin wrong; I mixed up who tagged it and who actually deleted it. My bad.  Chzz  ►  15:14, 29 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]

No problem, i've corrected it. I only tag the articles :) Iunaw 18:17, 29 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Oh - then I am bothering the wrong person... I am sorry - shall we continue or should I contact the admin who deleted the article? I have begun editing the page - but it looks like it will be later before I can do more due to my schedule. I have begun the edits at: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/User:LadyHawk89/LiquidApps_Sandbox

LadyHawk89 (talk) 15:37, 29 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]

I tagged the article, Gwen Gale deleted it and iridescent has recreated it . It is now temporarily here: User:LadyHawk89/LiquidApps.This is a list of administrators that provide copies of deleted articles, and as you are new here and your laptop crashed i've asked one of those admins -iridescent-, to do it for you.
Now, the question you should ask yourself is, who is talking about 'LiquidApps'? and what are they saying?. Wikipedia:Notability is the first thing you should address. If it doesn't meet that criteria you should consider other sites for that information and work on other articles here (read 'Your first article' for more information) Iunaw 18:17, 29 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]

I am working on the article with your comments in mind. I have also reduced the content significantly, leaving the introduction and history sections (modified slightly). When it is convenient, would you mind taking a look at what I have now to see if I am getting it to the right place? I am also looking now for more references - other sources to site. I have a few more, and am gathering others. Thanks again for your help and your time!

Hello i recently saw a artical which was a canidate for speedy deletion which i don't agee with. PM5 is a very commonly known group in the southern appalachias. taking that artical out would not follow wikipedia's criteria for deletion due to the fact that it impacts many peoples lives, members and non-members. i am sorry if the creator tried to promote something but i recommend editing it, not deleting it —Preceding unsigned comment added by Pm5commander (talkcontribs) 20:37, 24 October 2008 (UTC)[reply]
