Hello, and welcome to Wikipedia. A tag has been placed on User:Fred Luciano requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. Contested deletion

[edit]

This page should not be speedily deleted because... (your reason here) --Fred Luciano (talk) 16:00, 8 September 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Hi first and foremost, i don't know what do you mean of criteria for speedy deletion, i just try to edit everything and now create an article i deemed important for our church community to know. I am no expert in using wikipedia platform but i registered here so that i can contribute on the matters which i am aware of. hope my answer suffice your concerns.

Hi. Regardless of what you do in the real world, Wikipedia is not free website for you. This is an encyclopedia which, over the past 20 years, has developed a bunch of rules about which content is included and how. You are welcome to continue work on your sandbox. Please remove this sort of content from your user page. It is an affront to our volunteer editors that you flout our community norms and claim your religious beliefs are at all important here. Chris Troutman (talk) 16:33, 8 September 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Fred, we have stringent content requirements. Right now, that page doesn’t meet them if it’s going to be an article. Read these very closely: WP:RS and WP:GNG. There are 1000 other pages of rules but start with those 2. In a nutshell, stuff like Facebook, etc. are not reliable sources for an article as we define them. We look for something like news coverage from an independently edited source that has editorial oversight.
To be notable (as we define the term), you need “substantial” coverage by reliable sources to have an article. Right now, your article doesn’t have them. Most churches are not notable and never will be due to lack of media coverage.
You’re using your own user page as an article page. That’s not what it’s really for. It may get deleted for that reason.
Finally, skim WP:NOT. We’re not really here to promote or endorse your church. We’re just an amateur encyclopedia.
A. B. (talkcontribsglobal count) 16:46, 8 September 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Yikes! Chris troutman, this is a new editor. He doesn’t know all our rules. He’s not trying to antagonize or affront you or anyone else.
I’ll also note that while he’s naively making inappropriate use of his user page as an article, 100s of Wikipedia editors make some note of their religious beliefs or affiliations on their user pages - as do atheists.

Appreciate your suggestion, im learning. If you may please help me on this, i am waving my rights of ownership to people who want to help me publish this article, and moving forward will try to help to update it. Our church set several records which need to know in the Philippines. #1 We are the only church in the Philippines and maybe in asia to have name and devotion under the Five Wounds of Jesus; #2 we are the first diocesan shrine declared in the City of Las Pinas; #3 we currently hold the record to ordained 3 brothers (on the same day) in Philippines; etc. Hope you can help us. Thank you in advance... Fred Luciano (talk) 17:07, 8 September 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Yes i now try to do it using sandbox, but i don't know now what is the next step... Fred Luciano (talk) 17:08, 8 September 2023 (UTC)[reply]
You never had rights of ownership, going back to my point that Wikipedia is not a free webhost service. If you do not know what the next step is, then I suggest you focus your effort at a Facebook page for your chuch, not here. Chris Troutman (talk) 18:32, 8 September 2023 (UTC)[reply]
apology chris, just trying to give contribution using this platform. Thank you guys for your help. Fred Luciano (talk) 19:22, 8 September 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Fred, we appreciate your efforts whether they ultimately fit our needs or not.

Information icon Hello, and thank you for your contributions to Wikipedia. This is just a note to let you know that I've moved the draft that you were working on to Draft:The Shrine of the Five Wounds of Our Lord Jesus Christ, from its old location at User:Fred Luciano. This has been done because the Draft namespace is the preferred location for Articles for Creation submissions. Please feel free to continue to work on it there. If you have any questions about this, you are welcome to ask me on my talk page. Thank you. Liz Read! Talk! 07:52, 9 September 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Hi Liz, thank you so much. What will be our next step, or we just need to wait? Fred Luciano (talk) 11:52, 10 September 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Hi Liz, i continue to work on the draft article, but i dont know how to publish it considering its important to our church and community, we already started putting important details about the history of the church and we will release it (in prints) by next year: the complete historical notes from 1985 to present with its impact to the catholic community in las pinas and in the Philippines. We also started to get all the info of 3 more parishes handled by the stigmatine fathers in the philippines (mostly in mindanao area under 3 dioceses) and 1 seminary which started in the 90s (in carmona cavite) and 1 spiritual house of prayer (in Cagayan de Oro City)... With this i am inviting you to sponsor or adopt my article re to the shrine of the five wounds of jesus, We are very much willing to provide all information, set a meeting via online with our clergy (parish priest and shrine rector) as one way for you to verify the authenticity of the articles written. We can also arrange a meeting with you to Rev. Fr. Romulo Bertoni, 90 years old, italian priest (who is very much now fluent in tagalog) and one of the 3 stigmatine missionaries who came to the philippines to establish the parish of the five wounds church in las pinas. Thank you Fred Luciano (talk) 02:32, 7 November 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Information icon Hello, I'm Magnolia677. I noticed that you added or changed content in an article, List of Roman Catholic churches in Metro Manila, but you didn't provide a reliable source. It's been removed and archived in the page history for now, but if you'd like to include a citation and re-add it, please do so. You can have a look at referencing for beginners. If you think I made a mistake, you can leave me a message on my talk page. Thank you. Magnolia677 (talk) 22:05, 14 September 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Creating duplicate pages

[edit]

Hello Fred, you created a sandbox duplicate of your draft (which draft was originally on your userpage and is now at Draft:The Shrine of the Five Wounds of Our Lord Jesus Christ), but before that, you erroneously created the same page as a subpage of your talk page, which amounts to three identical drafts. Said user talk subpage will be deleted as a houskeeping task. Please concentrate your efforts on a single page. You should not create such duplicates. Thank you.—Alalch E. 13:26, 9 September 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Hi Alalch E, thank you so much... Fred Luciano (talk) 11:52, 10 September 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Hi WikiOriginal-9, Thank you... Fred Luciano (talk) 06:38, 8 November 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Hello Fred Luciano, and thank you for your contributions to Wikipedia.

While your contributions are appreciated, I wanted to let you know that I've started a discussion about whether an article that you created, Shrine of the Five Wounds of Our Lord Jesus Christ, should be deleted, as I am not sure that it is suitable for inclusion in Wikipedia in its current form. Your comments are welcome at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Shrine of the Five Wounds of Our Lord Jesus Christ.

Deletion discussions usually run for seven days and are not votes. Our guide about effectively contributing to such discussions is worth a read. The most common issue in these discussions is notability, but it's not the only aspect that may be discussed; read the nomination and any other comments carefully before you contribute to the discussion. Last but not least, you are highly encouraged to continue improving the article; just be sure not to remove the tag about the deletion nomination from the top.

If you have any questions, please leave a comment here and prepend it with {{Re|Chris troutman}}. And don't forget to sign your reply with ~~~~ . Thanks!

Hi Chris, the shrine of the five wounds is the first diocesan shrine in the city of las pinas, its the only church in the philippines and in asia dedicated to the five wounds of Jesus which brought by the stigmatine fathers in the philippines from verona italy. if you feel that this article is self serving no its not, i invite everyone to please review the draft article and maybe i ask everyone who are capable to adopt this article and make is as their own writing, i am waving my right to first who write it, in consideration to its important to the parishioners, people of las pinas, and the diocese of paranaque... Fred Luciano (talk) 02:08, 7 November 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Hi Chris and Tito Pao, let me share with you the important of our church which you may consider to be important part of the catholic church history in the Philippines.
1. The Diocesan Shrine of the Five Wounds of Our Lord Jesus Christ is the ONLY church in the Philippines and in Asia, dedicated to the Five Wounds of Jesus. This is why our Bishop of Paranaque elevate the church from a simple parish into a Diocesan Shrine, because of its unique and special devotion to Jesus Five Sacred Wounds. And as a Shrine our mandate started to little by little to spread this beautiful devotion to different parishes and dioceses in the Philippines. Our Diocesan Shrine is under the Diocese of Paranaque and under the vicariate of the Holy Family | See link(s) for your info.: https://catholink.ph/paranaque/
2. Our Shrine is part of the history of Las Pinas, we are the very FIRST diocesan shrine in the City, surprisingly 10 years earlier than the famous Bamboo Organ Chruch in Las Pinas.
3. Our 3-brother Stigmatine priests ("the Avenido Brothers") hold the record in the Philippines to be the first 3 brothers (by blood) to be ordained priests on the same day. The missionary works and inspirations brought to our country brings great meaning especially to aspiring young men to be a priest. | see link(s) for your info.: https://aleteia.org/2021/10/14/three-brothers-ordained-priests-on-the-same-day-in-the-philippines
4. As a Shrine, our church became one of the pilgrim church in the Philippines. Our church possesses (or hold) the Relic of the "True Cross" one of the only few churches in the Philippines to have it. Even our Bishop Jesse Mercado, DD. recognized it and invite all the faithful to visit our Shrine to venerate the cross because we are the only church in the Diocese of Paranaque to have it. Base on our research there are only 3 churches in the philippines to have it, first is the Manila Cathedral, second our shrine and third is in Monastario de Tarlac (in Region III) northern part of the Philippines)
Our hope and prayers is that using this platform (wikipedia) we maybe able to spread these information's to different churches in the philippines (and maybe in the world). In concern of self-published, i am willing to give-up my write-ups to potential sponsors or takers to adopt this article. We are also ready to arrange meetings (online or face-to-face) to our parish priest and shrine rector &/or to Superior Delegate - of the Stigmatine in the Philippines to verify and check the authenticity of the write-ups. We are also open that your team and other editors to challenge the write-ups to the chancery of the diff. offices of the bishop of paranaque and manila to verify and check the decrees issued by them to us by the roman catholic church archdiocese of manila (RCAM) and diocese of paranaque (DOP). THANK YOU Fred Luciano (talk) 10:05, 8 November 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Hello Fred Luciano. The nature of your edits, such as the one you made to Shrine of the Five Wounds of Our Lord Jesus Christ, gives the impression you have an undisclosed financial stake in promoting a topic, but you have not complied with Wikipedia's mandatory paid editing disclosure requirements. Paid advocacy is a category of conflict of interest (COI) editing that involves being compensated by a person, group, company or organization to use Wikipedia to promote their interests. Undisclosed paid advocacy is prohibited by our policies on neutral point of view and what Wikipedia is not, and is an especially serious type of COI; the Wikimedia Foundation regards it as a "black hat" practice akin to black-hat search-engine optimization.

Paid advocates are strongly discouraged from direct article editing, and should instead propose changes on the talk page of the article in question if an article exists. If the article does not exist, paid advocates are strongly discouraged from attempting to write an article at all. At best, any proposed article creation should be submitted through the articles for creation process, rather than directly.

Regardless, if you are receiving or expect to receive compensation for your edits, broadly construed, you are required by the Wikimedia Terms of Use to disclose your employer, client and affiliation. You can post such a mandatory disclosure to your user page at User:Fred Luciano. The template {{Paid}} can be used for this purpose – e.g. in the form: {{paid|user=Fred Luciano|employer=InsertName|client=InsertName}}. If I am mistaken – you are not being directly or indirectly compensated for your edits – please state that in response to this message. Otherwise, please provide the required disclosure. In either case, do not edit further until you answer this message. Magnolia677 (talk) 11:39, 10 November 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Hi Magnolia677, thank you for raising this up, i do not received anything or being paid by any person, group, company or organization to use Wikipedia to promote their interests. I am a devotee of the Five Wounds of Jesus in the Philippines, and a benefactor to this church and couple of church(es). I sign up to help this platform few years back with the same endeavor with other editor(s) or contributor(s), to help or share info that we know, or we are deemed expert or have vast experience on. Thank you Fred Luciano (talk) 01:55, 11 November 2023 (UTC)[reply]
This meets the criteria for a conflict of interest. Magnolia677 (talk) 20:48, 12 November 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Hi Magnolia677, no its not, it's just like am citizen and i'm paying my taxes. In religion context, I'm just attending the church regular service and giving my tithes and if i attended church service in another city or country i will still give donation as part of my faith responsibilities to the community or Christian denomination where i belong. I hope i was explain it. Thank you Fred Luciano (talk) 20:59, 13 November 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Managing a conflict of interest

[edit]

Information icon Hello, Fred Luciano. We welcome your contributions, but if you have an external relationship with the people, places or things you have written about on Wikipedia, you may have a conflict of interest (COI). Editors with a conflict of interest may be unduly influenced by their connection to the topic. See the conflict of interest guideline and FAQ for organizations for more information. We ask that you:

In addition, you are required by the Wikimedia Foundation's terms of use to disclose your employer, client, and affiliation with respect to any contribution which forms all or part of work for which you receive, or expect to receive, compensation. See Wikipedia:Paid-contribution disclosure.

Also, editing for the purpose of advertising, publicising, or promoting anyone or anything is not permitted. Thank you. Liz Read! Talk! 03:22, 14 November 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Hello, Fred Luciano,
I can tell you care deeply about this article subject. But this is a referenced encyclopedia and, to be honest, the vast majority of parishes and shrines are not considered notable enough to have articles on this project. Also, Wikipedia is not a vehicle to promote this church/shrine or tell people about this, Wikipedia is about free education, not getting publicity for subjects that are of interest to some people. I appreciate that you've put work into this article but many, many very important people and events are not considered notable by the standards of Wikipedia. It might be a better use of your time to acquire a blog or website to tell the world about this location, there you can publish whatever content you want and not have to follow the very complicated policies and guidelines of this platform.
If you have questions about editing on Wikipedia or its policies, please bring them to the Teahouse. Thank you. Liz Read! Talk! 03:27, 14 November 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Dear Liz, thank you for your advice, rest assure i will study and take note on this... Again, thank you Fred Luciano (talk) 11:32, 14 November 2023 (UTC)[reply]

You still have not adequately responded or taken action to the inquiry regarding your appearance as an undisclosed paid editor. If you make any additional edits without complying, you may be blocked from editing. Magnolia677 (talk) 16:20, 14 November 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Hi Magnolia677, let me reiterate, i do not received anything or being paid by any person, group, company or organization to use Wikipedia to promote their interests. I'm sorry it you do not believe, you can call directly the church if you've deemed i'm under their payroll. Thank you. Fred Luciano (talk) 16:51, 14 November 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Your external relationship with this church, and that you are a single-purpose editor, indicate a conflict of interest. Do you agree? Magnolia677 (talk) 18:02, 14 November 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Dear Magnolia677, let me repeat, i do not received anything or being paid by any person, group, company or organization to use Wikipedia to promote their interests. Actually, what i did is i write a simple article about a diocesan shrine which i started collecting data since 2021, setting up interviews, do my Homeworks, etc., etc. to make sure the reliability of the article and now its finally prepare, i write the article which i deemed important for the catholic church in the Philippines. We supposed to help each other improve the article and not doing this, as new contributors in this platform, i feel i'm not welcome, i'm started to lose interest. Anyway, you can throw the articles away if you feel it's a mistake given all the info. and let someone adopt the article (instead of me)... i write over and over again, that i'm willing to give up my write-ups if you feel guys that it's not important. You have my love and my answer. Thank you. Fred Luciano (talk) 19:17, 14 November 2023 (UTC)[reply]

If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on Diocesan Shrine of the Five Wounds of Our Lord Jesus Christ requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G4 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the page appears to be a repost of material that was previously deleted following a deletion discussion, at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Shrine of the Five Wounds of Our Lord Jesus Christ. When a page has substantially identical content to that of a page deleted after a discussion, and any changes in the content do not address the reasons for which the material was previously deleted, it may be deleted at any time.

abusing Wikipedia

[edit]

I thought we made plain that you cannot use Wikipedia to promote your church. A deletion discussion determined that the subject is not notable, therefore any attempt you make to re-create it will automatically be deleted. If I see you do this again, I will ask Wikipedia to block you from editing. Chris Troutman (talk) 17:32, 4 February 2024 (UTC)[reply]
