Okay, well to follow up: the Russian Mafia page does list Bout as a "Notable Russian mafiosi" but the citation is a non-viewable academic journal artice The HUMINT Offensive from Putin's Chekist State, so I can't read it. I would move to remove Bout from the category of "Fugitives wanted on organised crime charges" because:

  • If he was mafia, he was never wanted on organized crime charges
  • If he was a fugitive, he isn't one now

So unless you provide a more substantial reason than the Russian Mafia page, I'll promptly delete Bout from the category. User:Fleetham Talk —Preceding undated comment added 19:35, 14 July 2009 (UTC).[reply]

Hi, do you want to provide some reason for adding Viktor Bout to the category of "Fugitives wanted on organised crime charges"? Because I have no info on any charges against him related to organized crime, and he certainly isn't a fugitive. User:Fleetham Talk

Hi, None of the Supreme Court Justice images you have uploaded has information on the source or a tag to indicate the copyright status.

When you upload an image you should state the source (yourself or a webpage ) and add a tag: {{PD}} for public domain etc.

If you could go back, edit those image description pages and add tags it would save others the effort, and might prevent images being deleted as "unknown source"

Image Tagging Image:Johnmarty.jpg

[edit]
Warning sign
This media may be deleted.

Thanks for uploading Image:Johnmarty.jpg. I notice the 'image' page currently doesn't specify who created the content, so the copyright status is therefore unclear. If you have not created this media yourself then you need to argue that we have the right to use the media on Wikipedia (see copyright tagging below). If you have not created the media yourself then you should also specify where you found it, i.e., in most cases link to the website where you got it, and the terms of use for content from that page.

If the media also doesn't have a copyright tag then you must also add one. If you created/took the picture, audio, or video then you can use {{GFDL}} to release it under the GFDL. If you believe the media qualifies as fair use, please read fair use, and then use a tag such as {{Non-free fair use in|article name}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:Image copyright tags#Fair_use. See Wikipedia:Image copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.

If you have uploaded other media, please check that you have specified their source and copyright tagged them, too. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any unsourced and untagged images will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. Thanks for uploading Image:Estes Kefauver.jpg. However, the image may soon be deleted unless we can determine the copyright holder and copyright status. The Wikimedia Foundation is very careful about the images included in Wikipedia because of copyright law (see Wikipedia's Copyright policy).

The copyright holder is usually the creator, the creator's employer, or the last person who was transferred ownership rights. Copyright information on images is signified using copyright templates. The three basic license types on Wikipedia are open content, public domain, and fair use. Find the appropriate template in Wikipedia:Image copyright tags and place it on the image page like this: {{TemplateName}}.

Please signify the copyright information on any other images you have uploaded or will upload. Remember that images without this important information can be deleted by an administrator. If you have any questions, feel free to contact me. Thank you. Shyam (T/C) 20:07, 11 March 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Image Tagging for Image:PeterCamejo.jpg

Thanks for uploading Image:PeterCamejo.jpg. The image has been identified as not specifying the source and creator of the image, which is required by Wikipedia's policy on images. License tagging for Image:Peter Hutchinson.jpg

[edit]

Thanks for uploading Image:Peter Hutchinson.jpg. Wikipedia gets hundreds of images uploaded every day, and in order to verify that the images can be legally used on Wikipedia, the source and copyright status must be indicated. Images need to have an image tag applied to the image description page indicating the copyright status of the image. This uniform and easy-to-understand method of indicating the license status allows potential re-users of the images to know what they are allowed to do with the images.

For more information on using images, see the following pages:

This is an automated notice by OrphanBot. If you need help on selecting a tag to use, or in adding the tag to the image description, feel free to post a message at Wikipedia:Media copyright questions. 15:07, 16 June 2006 (UTC)

[edit]

Thanks for uploading Image:Edbegley.jpg. I notice the 'image' page specifies that the image is being used under fair use, but its use in Wikipedia articles fails our first fair use criterion in that it illustrates a subject for which a freely licensed image could reasonably be found or created that provides substantially the same information. If you believe this image is not replaceable, please:

  1. Go to the image description page and edit it to add {{Replaceable fair use disputed}}, without deleting the original Replaceable fair use template.
  2. On the image discussion page, write the reason why this image is not replaceable at all.

Alternatively, you can also choose to replace the fair use image by finding a freely licensed image of its subject, requesting that the copyright holder release this (or a similar) image under a free license, or by taking a picture of it yourself.

If you have uploaded other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified how these images fully satisfy our fair use criteria. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on this link. Note that any fair use images which are replaceable by free-licensed alternatives will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you for contributing to Fictional portrayals of psychopaths, but please read the talk page before making sweeping reversions. The article, as it stood prior to my edits, contained original research, which is not appropriate content for Wikipedia; the article as a whole read more like an essay than an encyclopedia entry.

Many of the characters previously listed may be considered fictional psychopaths (or sociopaths), but in many cases, the label was original research used to demonstrate the author's peculiar classification scheme. We have a consensus on criteria to use for inclusion of a fictional character on this list, Ireneshusband's criteria:

  1. They are called psychopaths in the book/play/movie (or a recognised equivalent term).
  2. They are described as psychopaths in a respected scholarly work (such as a psychological or film studies paper).
  3. They are commonly described as psychopaths within popular culture.

A fictional character need only meet one of these criterion for inclusion on the list.--NeantHumain 21:00, 14 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Actually we don't exactly have a consensus on those criteria without the addition of a fourth yet.
"They can be shown to display the traits ascribed to a psychopath as clinically defined."
I agree with your reversions Craverguy, and want the article to remain in that same form you do, if with a little tidying, but I wish you would come and discuss this calmly on the talk page as well as reverting? --Zeraeph 10:32, 15 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks for uploading Image:Paul Douglas.jpg. I noticed that the file's description page currently doesn't specify who created the content, so the copyright status is unclear. If you did not create this file yourself, you will need to specify the owner of the copyright. If you obtained it from a website, then a link to the website from which it was taken, together with a restatement of that website's terms of use of its content, is usually sufficient information. However, if the copyright holder is different from the website's publisher, their copyright should also be acknowledged.

As well as adding the source, please add a proper copyright licensing tag if the file doesn't have one already. If you created/took the picture, audio, or video then the {{GFDL-self}} tag can be used to release it under the GFDL. If you believe the media meets the criteria at Wikipedia:Non-free content, use a tag such as {{non-free fair use in|article name}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:Image copyright tags#Fair use. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that media for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that all non-free media not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. BJBot (talk) 05:15, 9 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Please do not edit war. I expect to see you in a discussion 'bout this with User:Collectonian, tomorrow. Regards, Jack Merridew 12:34, 3 April 2009 (UTC)[reply]

What part of do not edit war do you not understand? Jack Merridew 14:14, 3 April 2009 (UTC)[reply]

April 2009

[edit]

You currently appear to be engaged in an edit war according to the reverts you have made on List of Law & Order characters. Note that the three-revert rule prohibits making more than three reversions on a single page within a 24 hour period. Additionally, users who perform a large number of reversions in content disputes may be blocked for edit warring, even if they do not technically violate the three-revert rule. If you continue, you may be blocked from editing. Please do not repeatedly revert edits, but use the talk page to work towards wording and content that gains a consensus among editors. If necessary, pursue dispute resolution. This is now your official warning. If someone reverts you again and you try to restore your version, you will be reported for blocking. -- Collectonian (talk · contribs) 14:31, 3 April 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Ditto; and note that I warned you re WP:3RR in the thread on my talk page. I believe you're over 3 now. Jack Merridew 14:36, 3 April 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Fair use rationale for File:Lucchesi.jpg

[edit]

Thanks for uploading or contributing to File:Lucchesi.jpg. I notice the file page specifies that the file is being used under fair use but there is not a suitable explanation or rationale as to why each specific use in Wikipedia constitutes fair use. Please go to the file description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale.

If you have uploaded other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on those pages too. You can find a list of 'file' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "File" from the dropdown box. Note that any non-free media lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Polly (Parrot) 21:15, 26 July 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Please, go over the information at WP:OR. The line you are trying to force into the article does fall under the definitions provided there as "original research" - you are drawing the conclusion that the characters were deliberately blended together. You need a third party, secondary source for that. Without it, the statement cannot and will not stand. "I saw the movie", "I've read the comics", and/or "I'm a Hulk/Marvel fan" are not defences for it. Quite the opposite.

And before you revert again, you have had 4 editors tell you this. At best it's time for you to discuss this on the articles talk page. Continuing to force it on the article can be seen as you pushing for and edit war or editing disruptively, either of which has the potential of getting you blocked from editing.

Thanks,

- J Greb (talk) 05:28, 13 December 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. An automated process has detected that when you recently edited List of crime bosses, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Kenichi Yamamoto (check to confirm | fix with Dab solver). Such links are usually incorrect, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of unrelated topics with similar titles. (Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.)

File source problem with File:SamuelChase.jpg

[edit]

Thank you for uploading File:SamuelChase.jpg. I noticed that the file's description page currently doesn't specify who created the content, so the copyright status is unclear. If you did not create this file yourself, you will need to specify the owner of the copyright. If you obtained it from a website, please add a link to the page from which it was taken, together with a brief restatement of the website's terms of use of its content. If the original copyright holder is a party unaffiliated with the website, that author should also be credited. Please add this information by editing the image description page.

If the necessary information is not added within the next seven days, the image will be deleted. If the file is already gone, you can still make a request for undeletion and ask for a chance to fix the problem.

Please refer to the image use policy to learn what images you can or cannot upload on Wikipedia. Please also check any other files you have uploaded to make sure they are correctly tagged.
