Hey thanks for all your recent updates in Shadows of Forgotten Ancestors article!

[edit]

Hey talk:Neohzq98, thanks for all your recent updates in Shadows of Forgotten Ancestors article! You've done a tremendeous job of fixing a ton of grammar/syntax/etc mistakes - HUGE kudos for that! Also, apologies if I came across strong in my recent updates (when I returned some of the things you previously deleted) - its just that I spent literally close to 20+ hrs going through sources that could be used to update the article, so obviously my selfish "ego" is hurt when say a bunch of reviews are just flat out deleted (but I am not an idiot, I mean I realize that the current 'Review' seciton is probably still bloated - I just don't think that we should just flat-out remove URL links to reviews, we should probably keep the URLs, and just group the reviews thematically (i.e., those who praised the use of 'vibrant colours' in the film could be grouped into one sentence etc.).

Btw, I actually recently asked one of the old article contributors - Arjayay -to do some badly-needed copy-editing on the article [1], but he just flat out ignored me. Had I known that you are interested in the topic and don't mind helping improve the article, I would've reached out to you instead.

Anyhow, thank you kind Brit (I'am assuming that you're a Brit, since you corrected theater to theatre :D).--73.8.106.93 (talk) 21:03, 20 October 2021 (UTC)[reply]

@73.8.106.93: Hey, thanks for sending me this message. I apologize if I sounded rude in my comments, and also for initially deleting a whole chunk of some of the sections without any warning. I am not a frequent editor but I do read a lot of film pages, so this article took me by surprise since some of the sections are unusually long in comparison. I looked through the version history before I started editing and yes I've seen that you've put in a lot of hard work into it (huge thanks for that!), but part of me felt that maybe you were overenthusiastic and had gone overboard so I felt the need to trim the article down. But then again I don't have much experience in editing so maybe I've taken a few things too far without considering the effort that you've already put in, and I'm sorry for that.

As for your suggestion for grouping some of the reviews thematically, yeah I think we can look into that and I'll be willing to help out if there is a suitable way to do it.

And yeah thanks again for reaching out to me. I was afraid that I was at the brink of an edit war but hey, you're actually a nice person haha. Cheers. Neohzq98 (talk) 22:07, 20 October 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Hey Neohzq98, thanks for the kind words - and would love if you could help iprove 'Reviews' section by further bucketing reviews thematically etc. As I told Arjayay a week ago [2], I feel I've stared at this article for so long that I no longer see various issues with the article (it's like when one writes an essay for Freshman Writing class and keeps re-writing it to a point where it seems 'perfect' to them, bu in fact there are plenty of issues with the essay, it's just that one stops seeing them after staring at words for tood long!).--73.8.106.93 (talk) 22:24, 20 October 2021 (UTC)[reply]
