Deege515
Deege515 is the pseudonym for User:Deege516 an awesome human being who places links basically everywhere. He attends UCSD and plans to graduate in spring of 2007 with a double major bachelor's degree in international relations and public policy. A thinker and father of none, he writes for the university's student publication The Triton. Etymology[edit]The term "Deege515" can be traced down via several generational changes. Deege516 was known in high school as "Dr. Deege," as his own parents work in medicine, and therefore, picked up a plethora of otherwise useless medical jargon. Others say that this was also during the short phase in his life that Deege actually enjoyed rap music, and his classmates only address him as "Dr. Deege" in an effort to make him sound as "gangsta" as mainstream rapper Dr. Dre. Deege then began using "Dr. Deege" as his user name in several online services, including message boards, multiplayers, and even his own website. However, he forgot one of his "Dr. Deege" passwords for SOCOM II: U.S. Navy SEALs, and was forced to log in as a different user. Believing that his fellow team mates could recognize the "first word 'D', second word 'G'" in his username, he created a portmanteau of those letters, and placed 'E's amongst them, "Deege," as if to make it sound like an actual name. Discovering that the username was somehow already taken, he added his numeric birthdate "511" at the end of that username. Thus, Deege was born. His fellow team mates failed to recognize Deege as Dr. Deege, and in a heated argument, a series of team kills occurred. Later, in an effort to make his username appear more symmetric, he converted "511" to "515" while creating a new AOL Instant Messenger screen name. It is predicted that by 2013, the name will change from its 'D' to a 'G', and then drop the "515" entirely in order to achieve this perfect symmetry. Early Life[edit]Deege was born at 7 pounds, 3 ounces on San Jose, California. A bunch of undisclosed events occurred between then and the coming education section. Education[edit]Deege has had an extensive educational background, although his ability to take advantage of his provide opportunities has been up to debate. In 1999, Deege was admitted to Bellarmine College Preparatory, a prestigous Catholic all-male institution in San Jose, California. It is speculated that his minority ancestry and his Catholic belief system were amongst the key factors, if not only factors that entitled him to attend this high school, as his grades in junior high were rather mediocre. The mediocrity prevailed, and Deege graduated high school in May 2003. Although originally admitted and scheduled to attend Cal Poly in the fall of that year, a final 'D' grade in English during the Spring 2003 semester resulted in the university withdrawing Deege's selection from that institution. Although the California State University was prohibited from originally selecting Deege based on race, high speculation shows that this acceptance may have happened anyway, judging by his graduating GPA. Resulting from the Cal Poly withdrawal, Deege was forced to continue his education at the local De Anza College in Cupertino, California for the 2003-2004 academic year. His ultimate goal would be to transfer out of that college as a junior in two years in order to keep up with his high school friends who would also be juniors by the 2005-2006 academic school year. He originally chose to follow the IGETC program, and strategically planned the next 2 academic years. Amongst the first classes he ended up taking at De Anza in Fall 2003 was Political Science 1, Introduction to American Politics, instructed by Professor Greg Druehl. Originally a math major, Deege found politics boring and unnecessary; yet only necessary to transfer via the American History and Institutions graduation requirement. However, Druehl was very charismatic in his lecture, continuously stressing the importance of being an American, and being self-reliant. It was there that Deege found the philosophy to be greatly appealing, believing that all his life, things would just be put on the table for him, and that he had no control over what was on that table. He discovered that as an upper middle class student, he had the power to shape his own life. Blaming others for his own personal academic problems simply got in the way of the learning process. Believing that he could find a future anywhere all because firms are actively recruiting minorities due to racial social tensions of the past generation became moot. He decided he could do this all on his own, and he needed absolutely no help (except from his parents paying the tuition). He continuously succeeded at De Anza, ranking on the Dean's List on 6 of the 8 quarters he attended that school, with a final cumulative 3.6 transfer GPA by spring 2005. Druehl further became a mentor professor for Deege, with each exchanging political views and American values on almost a daily basis. Deege employed himself for the rest of his stay at De Anza as Druehl's Supplemental Instructor after passing his POLI 1 class with a 104% 'A'. With these qualifications, and a 'Decline to State' racial bubble filled in on the University of California application, Deege was easily accepted into the University of California at San Diego as a Fall 2005 transfer student. As of April 2006, he continues to attend UCSD in pursuit of his bachelors of arts degree in a political science concentration double major. Career[edit]Deege's employment history has been mainly in the customer service field, but he is rather good at doing jobs he hates. With the exception of job positions associated with mandatory labor unions, Deege has a long job retention length, working for a certain company for years at time per job. If the position were actually unionized, this meant that Deege only found out about the fact that the union was required to join during the job orientation, 1 week after being originally hired. He would then covertly seek work with another company, and immediately quit his union job on the spot upon confirmation of his new company's position, without regard to any "two weeks notice" policies. In 2005, he was appointed as the store manager of the Nickelodeon Store in Paramount's Great America, in charge of a staff of 15 angst-ridden teenagers. During the store's Deege Administration, employee retention rate dropped 85%, through a combination of firings, resignations, and a lack of replacement workers due to budgetary reasons. Deege went on a temporary leave of absence in order to attend the distant UCSD in Southern California, returning to the Great America theme park on three-day weekends, Christmas and spring breaks, and other holidays, to reinstitute a micromanaging reign of terror amongst unsuspecting, entry-level, first-job, easily-emotional teens. Other job titles held by Deege[edit]* - denotes a unionized job @ - Bonfante Gardens is theme park managed by Paramount Parks, of which, Deege was asked to serve some time helping out supervision during their 2-month extended season. Deege's relatively short employment at Bonfante was terminated in good standing, and did not end with any "two weeks notice" violations. See also[edit] |
