Edit warring over inconclusive history

[edit]

This and several other edits today by Aziz.N1987 are unconstructive edit warring, now exceeding WP:3RR. Four editors have reverted the Aziz history edit, based on this source, which is inconclusive at best, leads to speculation, and is not a WP:SCIRS review. The edits have not improved the History and cultivation section, but rather made it vague with disrupted style and poorly written grammar. Further, the Aziz edits are unformatted and break WP:MOS, for which the editor has been warned. Best if this editor pauses with editing, discusses changes here, and stops the persistent edit warring. Walnut reference?

[edit]

I found this section peculiar:

Pairs of walnuts are sometimes sold in their green husks for a form of gambling known as ''du qing pi''.[https://www.academia.edu/25307556/Asian_Anthropology_Nuts_Beijing_folk_art_connoisseurship_in_the_age_of_marketization]

Surely it is meant to be a reference, or is it something else? Qwertyxp2000 (talk | contribs) 03:08, 15 September 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Drupe or Nut

[edit]

The article seems to be confused about whether the walnut is a drupe or a true botanical nut 173.226.237.130 (talk) 00:29, 25 February 2023 (UTC)[reply]

The Nut article has this statement: The general and original usage of the term is less restrictive, and many nuts (in the culinary sense), such as almonds, pecans, pistachios, walnuts, and Brazil nuts, are not nuts in a botanical sense. So wikipedia, which is it? 2601:840:4300:1480:459B:5150:28B0:D83 (talk) 01:09, 13 June 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Ditto with the drupe article, which asserts walnuts are drupes. Mairinade (talk) 03:58, 13 June 2023 (UTC)[reply]
