Excellent article. However, more Era's need to be mentioned like between 1000BC-500AD--Indian50 19:29, 12 September 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Much of this article is misinterpretation and inaccuracy. While it's okay to talk about the history of the Punjab region, to call everyone who ever lived there a "Punjabi" is false. The Punjabi language was born in around the 10-11th century, so that would be the beginning of the modern Punjabi people as we know them today. Anything before that is undifferentiated. For example the name "Punjab" is from the 16th century. Tuncrypt 12:44, 25 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Nominating the "Melting Pot" section of this article for a POV check. Many of the statements in this article are subjective and none are footnoted. The statement, "People of different languages, cultures, customs and races came to Punjab for good life and it was the strength and superiority of Punjabi culture and language that these all immigrants forgot their native culture and became Punjabi" is particularly questionable, and this kind subjectivity is common throughout the rest of the article. This whole thing reads more like a propaganda piece than a proper description of the culture. The whole thing could use a thorough revision.--Abnervonkadaver (talk) 22:46, 6 December 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Introduction needed

[edit]

I agree this is a great article, although I also agree it lacks impartiality.

Most of all I think this article needs a brief introduction or description. The introduction states what the culture encompasses but not where it was born, practiced or what race or religion it is connected too (if any).

I just feel that people who have had no exposure to Punjabi culture will need some initial context.
