Quick question; the article previously had a hatbote about technical restrictions on the name, but since it’s been changed, how are you supposed to link to the article? You can’t just use [[Poet | Artist]] (which I presume is why the technical restriction note was there in the first place). How do you go around this without simply using the redirect? Surely the article name should simply be Poet Artist if you can’t link without using the redirect? @Abdotorg, Snowflake91, and Explicit: Alexanderlee (talk) 22:52, 27 January 2018 (UTC)[reply]

I’ve actually just found WP:TSC which states that “|” cannot be used because of technical restrictions, so I’ll undo this name change as soon as I can. Alexanderlee (talk) 23:05, 27 January 2018 (UTC)[reply]
I think it's worth linking this conversation I've just had with the user who changed the article name (@Pppery:) and I'm now also asking for Admin assistance, I still cannot link to the article myself using my laptop nor my phone, it comes up with the "Bad title The requested page title contains invalid characters: "|". Return to Main Page."

I've also realised that I don't actually know how to move pages involving redirects, so if anyone else who knows how to do so could do this I'd appreciate it. Alexanderlee (talk) 23:34, 27 January 2018 (UTC)[reply]

It looks weird because the title is in italics, it looks like "/" and not "|", and there should not be space I guess (Poet|Artist and not Poet | Artist), is it technically restricted if there is no space? Snowflake91 (talk) 23:55, 27 January 2018 (UTC)[reply]
If I type the name myself on my laptop it looks like this, (Poet|Artist has the same result) and it's not how it is when you click from elsewhere, but the link when I type links to the bad name page, and when I link how you would in an article it does this... Artist and doesn't work properly, so I'm not sure how the other user has managed to do it Alexanderlee (talk) 00:04, 28 January 2018 (UTC)[reply]
| is not the same character as |. {{3x|p}}ery (talk) 00:11, 28 January 2018 (UTC)[reply]

I successfully linked it to Story Op.2, Kim Jong-hyun discography, and Kim Jong-hyun (singer)-K-popguardian (talk) 16:45, 28 January 2018 (UTC)[reply]

@K-popguardian: you used the redirect though not the direct link Alexanderlee (talk) 16:57, 28 January 2018 (UTC)[reply]

We are probably better off moving the article back to its previous namespace as it is much more functional that way within wikipedia, even if we regard the title as stylism and write it as [[Poet Artist|Poet {{!}} Artist]]. Abdotorg (talk) 18:09, 28 January 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Side note: as the article name is now should it not be at Poet|Artist, as Snowflake91 said? Abdotorg (talk) 18:15, 28 January 2018 (UTC)[reply]
Agree, this should go back to Poet Artist. WP:TSC clearly doesn't allow | or | and no one is going to search for it that way.Evaders99 (talk) 02:25, 29 January 2018 (UTC)[reply]
