Mixtape, deluxe album, or studio album

[edit]

All the sources that I have saying that this is a mixtape are from September, most are saying that it was an "Unnamed mixtape." Billboard 1, Billboard 2, The Source, Hypebeast, ThatGrapeJuice call it a deluxe album, which by definition it is not a deluxe edition of an album as a deluxe album is the original album with a few added songs. NME, HotNewHipHop, Vibe call it a studio album. I am going to keep it as a studio album until the release in approx. 2 hours EST.

If you can provide a twitter link, instagram link, etc to Megan saying that it is a mixtape than it is a mixtape but for now its either a deluxe or a studio album. Cowboygilbert - (talk) ♥ 02:09, 25 October 2024 (UTC)[reply]

This tweet is simply not enough to show that Megan Act: II is a mixtape, it's not directly referenced. And per WP:PSTS, we need reputable sources to back up the claim. @Chazdonnxtdoor: Please stop changing it to be titled a "mixtape" without reputable sources. @AG202, since the album is now out it is a deluxe reissue of the previous album. Cowboygilbert - (talk) ♥ 13:06, 26 October 2024 (UTC)[reply]
"IF you can provide a twitter link, instagram link, etc to MEGAN saying it is a mixtape then it is a mixtape but for now its either a deluxe or a studio album." I gave both a twitter AND instagram link to the artist herself saying its a mixtape. Any pop culture page or website is automatically going to call it an album, but she herself said "HARDEST MIXTAPE OF 2024". Please don't be unprofessional and putrid, you're going to piss me off. @Chazdonnxtdoor: There’s no need for rudeness, it’s not going to further your point. In the tweet, it doesn’t directly state that it’s talking about her album, which makes it a weaker source. And I wasn’t the one that requested that you send a tweet or Instagram link, for the record. But most importantly, you need to review WP:PSTS. We give more weight to reputable secondary sources, so with music that may be Billboard or Rolling Stone, for example. And no, far from every reputable website is automatically going to call a mixtape an “album” let alone the specific terminology of “deluxe reissue”. You can see this with the reporting for Fever: Billboard refers to it as a “project” while also referring to Tina Snow as an “EP”, and Good News as her “debut album”. My original comment was wrong, correct, because we need due weight from multiple sources calling what it is. We have multiple reliable and independent publications saying that it is a deluxe album or a standard studio album. But by the definition of a reissue album, that’s what it is. Edit warring on this topic isn’t gonna fix your case but can get you temporary blocked for it. My original comment was before the release of album and since it is now released, we can see what the album is and use the correct terminology for what it is. And please don’t WP:SHOUT to prove a point, it just makes you seem like a bad faith editor. Cowboygilbert - (talk) ♥ 20:47, 26 October 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Thank you. Now you can mind your (Personal attack removed) business. Blessed day! Chazdonnxtdoor (talk) 04:10, 25 October 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Turns out we all were wrong, its a deluxe reissue! Good news, Wikipedia isn't permanent. Cowboygilbert - (talk) ♥ 05:03, 25 October 2024 (UTC)[reply]
