Failed GA

[edit]

There are many problems with this article

  • It is not referenced properly. Most of the references are slef references or blogs, so they are not acceptable. Secondly, the references need to be formatted properly. For a guide, please see {{cite web}} for help
  • There is too much trivia in the article:Star signs and blood type and height are not important
  • There is only one paragraph of prose, which is a problem
  • FU images. The second image cannot be used as FU unless it accompanies discussion in the main body and helps people to understand the attached discussion. This currently fails
  • WP:MOS - do not caps all the headers
  • One line sections should be merged.

I wish to use this image from http://yaplog.jp/peko-mm/4/ to replace the current non-free image used in the article. It is not clearly stated if this image is under copyright. I would appreciate help from anyone knowledgable about Japanese copyright law in regards to photographs or blog content. → Hot Dog Wolf 19:42, 4 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]

I saw the request on Copyright examinations. I don't know Japanese copyright. I would assume that Wikipedia would not accept anything except if there an explicit statement that something is NOT copyrighted. Looking at my last comment in a slightly different way, the source would have to explicitly state that they relinquish copyright. The burden of proof would need to be on you to prove that Japanese copyright allows these images on Wikipedia. The server are located in the United States, so it is likely that U.S. copyright law applies. This is my opinion, and I'm not a lawyer. I wish that Wikipedia's lawyers would occasionally look at the copyright examination questions. My question has been there for a long time. Royalbroil 20:01, 4 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Sorry, this is not an acceptable image for wikipedia. As you can see from {{PD-Japan}}, this image is still under copyright. Since this group is still performing, we should be able to acquire a free image from them so it is not acceptable per WP:NONFREE. Hope this helps.
