Factors produced in the liver

[edit]

This article reports that factor VIII is made by the liver, when in fact it is not. This should be changed to reflect this accurately. The other factors are made by the liver. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Ritangerman (talkcontribs) 20:20, 26 July 2018 (UTC)[reply]

@Ritangerman Incorrect. It is synthesised by entothelial, liver, and other cells.[1] If you disagree please provide a reliable source to back up your claim. Respectfully, --Tom (LT) (talk) 23:36, 11 August 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Nonsensical Precision

[edit]

When transferring approximate measurements into the metric system, it doesn't make a whole lot of sense to use over-precise numbers like "1.44–1.66 kg". No one who is at home in the metric system would use numbers like that unless you actually have evidence of the minimum liver weight being exactly 1440g and the maximum being exactly 1660g.

I would suggest you simply use 1500g (or 1.5 kg) which is a common approximation and makes a lot more sense here. --217.239.15.207 (talk) 15:04, 17 November 2018 (UTC)[reply]

I agree and have made the suggested change to 1.5 kg. Deli nk (talk) 15:41, 17 November 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Text layout

[edit]

The text layout is a bit of a mess under the 'With aging' bold heading in the article. There is a huge space between chunks of text and not much punctuation at all. Xboxsponge15 (talk) 19:17, 23 September 2019 (UTC)[reply]

It's fixed now. Just plain Bill (talk) 21:51, 23 September 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Needs a clear discussion of what goes in, and what comes out of the liver

[edit]

In understanding what the liver does, we need a clear statement of what goes into the liver, and what comes out. Right now, the article is peppered with vague statements about how the liver "plays a role" in this, or has this and that function, or is connected to this and that. But no concise overview of inputs and outputs. I'm hoping someone can remedy this, especially with a nice diagram :) Gwideman (talk) 02:09, 13 July 2020 (UTC)[reply]

As meat

[edit]

I understand that liver as meat is rich in cholesterol and saturated fat. Could you add that properly to the article? --Error (talk) 09:29, 29 July 2021 (UTC)[reply]

3D model of liver

[edit]

It would be very nice to have 3D model of the liver so that people can explore it from thier prefered angle; I uploaded this one. But it was not accepted what would need to be changed/updated about the model before it would be acceptable for the article?
