to divide or not to divide?

[edit]

Should we divide the article into two parts as anchors and reporters? Kavas (talk) 15:32, 13 July 2013 (UTC)[reply]

to integrate or not to integrate?

[edit]

This list largely duplicates the similar list: Al Jazeera English Personalities.

  • Drop: the word 'English' from that title.
  • Add: a sub-heading AJ.English in that list and any missing names from this list.
  • Add: a sub-heading AJ.America in that list and transfer the names from this list to that list.
  • Close: this list, which sits awkwardly at the end of a section mostly about channels, ie. organisations rather than individuals,

and have one single source for English-speaking journalists on the Al Jazeera network (many of whom of course appear on both channels).

definitely to integrate, question mark?

[edit]

On investigation, there are actually 3 lists, which largely triplicate each other, viz:

  • Al Jazeera People
  • Al Jazeera English Personalities
  • Al Jazeera Presenters (under Al Jazeera Media Network)

Unless the Qatari royal family has bought up Wikipedia too, that's enough Al Jazeera People/Personalities/Presenters already...

Some urgent rationalization is surely required. What properties do the 3 lists have and what are readers really wanting from them?

One single source for all people/personalities/presenters is surely best? But then what?

  • Al Jazeera English: because it's global?
  • Al Jazeera America: because many of these folks will only be seen within the US?
  • Al Jazeera non-English language p/p/p: because we're only researching these folks because Fox News has just mentioned them? (otherwise we'd be reading about them on Wikipedia Arabic (or Serbo-Croat) pages?

But then what?

  • anchors and presenters?
  • past and present?
