Talk:King's Quest IV
Error
[edit]I deleted the sentance saying this game was the first game with a female protaganist. According to Wikipedia, Metroid (which has a main character who is female) predates it.
I have reverted your change. The article states that KQIV was the first computer adventure game with a female protagonist, not that it was the first game of any kind with a female protagonist. Metroid was not a computer game, so the fact that it had a female protagonist before KQIV is irrelevant. CKarnstein 23:35, 15 October 2005 (UTC)
- Well, the first computer adventure game with a female protagonist would be Plundered Hearts (1987). KQ4 might be called the first graphical computer adventure game with a female protagonist, but I don't know if that is still notable enough to be mentioned. TerokNor 21:41, 28 March 2006 (UTC)
- Actually, it was not even the first graphical computer adventure game with a female protagonist. That would be Amelie Minuit, a 1985 Amstrad CPC game. I have changed the sentence to "first major graphical computer adventure game". -- 213.47.127.75 01:42, 17 March 2007 (UTC)
I do not know of any AGI 2.3 version of KQ4. Only v2.0 and v2.2 versions exist. I'm assuming 2.3 is a typo. The AGI version release was very limited, and I cant see them making 3 or more releases of it. I'm surprised there is a 2.2 release --Yakumo 17:34, 29 August 2006 (UTC)
Are we sure about Lolotte?
[edit]I noticed that she was said to be the sister of Geneata, However, in the Villians section of the page for the King's Quest series it is stated that this is not ture according to the back story in various official hint guides. Can someone knowledgable of story plese clear up this confusion.
Video card support
[edit]There's a quote in the article indicating that the game supported VGA graphics. I don't see how this would be possible considering that VGA wasn't released until two years later in 1990. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 198.208.159.17 (talk) 15:16, 26 May 2017 (UTC)
Sound card support
[edit]I changed the sentence about sound card support from "the first PC game" to "one of the first PC games". While it may be true, of the games that came out in the same year, at least Times of Lore had sound card support too. The exact date is often very hard to pinpoint, I found none for TOL, and for KQIV Wikipedia gives August, while MobyGames gives September. Since no source was given for the statement, I thought it better to err on the safe side. — 213.47.127.75 18:01, 18 March 2007 (UTC)
No Possible Remakes?
[edit]I can understand that there were remakes of the first three of King's Quest, but here's the stumper: Do you think there may or may not be a remake of the 4th King's Quest? --LooneyTunerIan (talk) 00:27, 24 September 2016 (UTC)
