About change which I did: He was definitely Czech. Czech lands belonged to the Austria-Hungary in that times, but he was not Austrian due to. In the Austria-Hungary lived many nations (Austrians, Hungarians, Czechs, Slovaks, Croatians,...). Dačice is in Czech Republic, that is obvious. And "Jakub Kryštof" is definitely Czech name (have you ever seen "š" in German language?) (excuse bad english) --Dr. Killer (talk) 23:58, 22 December 2008 (UTC)[reply]

He was born into a German-Austrian family. In Bohemia and Moravia a big German minority was living during that time. In some areas they were the majority. "Jacob Christoph Rad" also grew up in Tarnów (nowadays Poland) before moving with his family to Vienna (nowadays Austria). He came to Datschitz (nowadays Dačice) 1840. So he was 41 years old before going to Moravia. He definitly is of German-Austrian descent. Writing his name in Czech doesn't make him more Czech. Same with "František Kafka". — Preceding unsigned comment added by 91.67.37.130 (talkcontribs)

Yes, so it is. There are no sources about a "Czech descent" of Jakob Christoph Rad. I have deleted it, but it should be also reconsidered to rename the article to the original German name (and the Czech name as a redirect). --Mmh (talk) 21:44, 23 August 2017 (UTC)[reply]
Here, the record of his death can be found. It is the book of the deceased of the parish of "Unsere Liebe Frau zu den Schotten" in Vienna. The name is spelled as Jakob Christof Rad. --Mmh (talk) 22:34, 23 August 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Since nobody else has done it, I insert the move request here. --Mmh (talk) 08:07, 27 October 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Jakub Kryštof RadJakob Christof Rad – As I have writen above, there are no sources about a Czech descent of Jakob Christof Rad, that is why there is no reason to spell the name in Czech instead of German. the record of his death shows the spelling Jakob Christof Rad.
