Chocolate Drop

[edit]

For what it's worth, I'm a native of Harrisburg PA and practically grew up at Hersheypark. I have been to the park and ridden the Comet literally hundreds of times and have never heard the first hill of the Comet referred to as the "Chocolate Drop". I've never seen or heard the label in promotional stuff and certainly never heard the term used by the public. I don't doubt that someone, somewhere along the line, used the term, but I don't think it's accurate to say that it's "also known as". PurpleChez (talk) 13:16, 28 July 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Most of the references I've found for "Chocolate Drop" seem to be mirrors of this article.PurpleChez (talk) 20:22, 30 March 2011 (UTC)[reply]
Agreed - My family has gone to Hershey Park regularly since the 70's and has never heard of that term except for seeing it here. I have never heard any of the ride attendants refer to it as that either. I will ask some of the employees we know about the term, but recommend removing the phrase as there is no factual basis for at this time. HanokOdbrook (talk) 17:20, 19 July 2012 (UTC)[reply]
Yeah - no one I have ever talked to at this point has ever heard of the drop being referred to at this. I will remove it until such a time as credible sources can be provided to prove that this was at one point a common term for the drop and not just one rider's name for it. New Train Name Information Cite

[edit]

The references to the Hershey Community Archives for the new train information and the new trains' names are not specific enough to verify the citation. I was not able to find the specific citation browsing the HCA link. Can someone either find a more specific citation pointer in the HCA or else find another source for this information?
