Comparison of open source configuration management software, where it would make most sense. — Preceding unsigned comment added by NicoSchottelius (talkcontribs) 19:47, 19 September 2012 (UTC)[reply]

This page is not unambiguously promotional, because... cdist is another open source configuration management software like bcfg2 or puppet or chef, which all have similar pages on wikipedia. Although the usage may not yet have been widespread like the older tools, the featureset is comparable.

Furthermore the Comparison of open source configuration management software page requires a page for each tool.

I am the author of cdist, but I have had no intention to "promote" or "advertise" on wikipedia. My motivation is to provide a fair amount of overview with objective description.

If the proposed article does not meet wikipedias standards, I'm more than willing to improve it.

If this article is really considered to be spam, I'm wondering what the difference between this article and the articles CFEngine, Puppet (software), Chef (software) or Bcfg2 is. --NicoSchottelius (talk) 19:50, 6 June 2012 (UTC)[reply]

[edit]

This page is not unambiguously promotional, because... it is describing cdist in a neutral way. Most of the article has been rephrased to match wikipedias guidelines. I've compared it again to the other articles referenced in the other talk entry to ensure it's quality is on the same standard. Very poorly written article

[edit]

I think I lost 10 IQ points while reading this article. It's very monotonous and poorly written and it makes frequent reference to very trivial, pseudo-promotional points ("it's being talked about on Twitter"). — Preceding unsigned comment added by 82.9.176.129 (talk) 10:35, 31 July 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Are issues are still here?

[edit]

Last edit on talk page is 2013, but page is edited in 2015, in particular I rewrote introduction in spirit of Ansible. I propose to reevaluate issues. Arch wiki have page on it, so I belive notability is not issue. It is not too technical to me, but I am bit of power-user, so I may be biased. Opinions, or I can remove issues template by myself? 212.16.8.3 (talk) 11:47, 29 July 2015 (UTC)[reply]
