Slide on opening night

[edit]

I had thought that the backwards slide had a CBLT Channel 9 identification on it rather than a CBC network logo.

CBLT Morning

[edit]

CBLT Morning was not the only locally produced morning show in Canada when it was on the air. CFPL-TV in London aired a morning news program known as FYI First Edition from 1983-1990. It was originally one hour long from 7:30-8:30, and expanded to 90 minutes in 1988. I believe it was seen only on CFPL originally and then expanded to CKNX-TV in the late 80s.

Fair use rationale for Image:CBLT 1973.png

[edit]

Image:CBLT 1973.png is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in Wikipedia articles constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.

Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If there is other other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page. Note that any fair use images uploaded after 4 May, 2006, and lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.BetacommandBot 04:47, 2 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Olympic coverage

[edit]

Every Olympic year I look forward to the games (used to be every 4 years but now it is 2 because they do the winter then 2 years later they do the summer) and EVERY TIME I am disappointed with the coverage. You want to highlight the athletes that is fine but COME ON - in the middle of the games???? Why can't you hightlight their home life, training and all that crap 2 weeks prior to the games. I tune in to watch THE GAMES not see replays over and over about an athlete that broke his legs and one who has a bad angle - if they are hurt they shouldn't be there. I don't need to see it over and over and over - have we become Americanized????? SHOW THE GAMES - even if it is Russia or the United states in gymnatistics - so what - let's see the games. You show almost the entire bicycle race - yea how interesting. Let's see ALL the swimmers, the divers - ALL the GAMES. Stop telling us about each athlete and their home town and their parents - I don't want to see that. Then you guys wonder why we watch American Television. I would rather hear those braggarts and at least see the GAMES. Get someone on there that knows how to run a television station. POOR CANADIAN CONTENT that is why we don't watch. LET'S SEE THE DAMN GAMES. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 24.226.91.176 (talk) 15:07, 9 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Accommodate CFTO?!

[edit]

"In 1956 the station moved to Channel 6 to accommodate CFTO." But CFTO didn't go on the air for four more years. Was CFTO in the planning stages that long before it hit the air? GBC (talk) 05:38, 13 March 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Unless Global...

[edit]

Unless global has extra transmission services that are scheduled to lose their CTV by August 31, 2009, wouldn't that mean that CBC has a monopoly for over-the-air service in those rural communities? —Preceding unsigned comment added by Mechamind90 (talkcontribs) 03:50, 30 March 2009 (UTC)[reply]
