The resulting WikiProject was not created

A Wikiproject for Home and Away and Neighbours related content would help generate an improvement drive a few editors are currently trying to carry out for the shows. The two television serial's have both been on air for over twenty years and have often generated characters of notability. However, some of the articles have been neglected. In the past year me and editor User:JuneGloom07 have tried improving many, lately there has been much more interest and more discussion for improvement than ever. It would be useful to have a set place to talk about improvement drives, set targets and goals to meet and discuss and assess groups of articles that can be merged to lists and so forth. These articles attract many unregistered users, it may be a good idea to attempt to get more on board by creating a hub for this niche in soap. These serial's are ongoing and there is always something to do as more notable events happen as they are broadcast in a vast range of countries, meaning an heightened interest.RaintheOne ^BAM 17:33, 1 December 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Why do you want to start a new group, instead of joining one of these existing groups?

WP:FC is focused soley on characters, these shows have various other articles in need of a support network. WP:SOAPS is dedicated to a high number of soap operas aired around the world. Though, it has often seen increased levels of activity in the past few years, with limited talk and outdated consensus focused solely on US daytime soap opera, rather than worldwide. Similiar sister projects such as Wikipedia:WikiProject EastEnders and Wikipedia:WikiProject Hollyoaks have proved a successful in creating a community focused on updating, sourcing, improved writing about fiction and together promoted more articles to DYK, GA and FA. So it isn't that we cannot work within those. So instead of knocking at the door of a project that has a limited amount of members stretched to 1600+ articles - This sister project would bring the focus onto over 500 articles which can be improved over the next year and beyond.

Please specify whether or not you would join the project.

I do not think this is a good idea now. I notified others interested in those topics and no immediate interest. Therefore I think lack of enthusiasm from the word go is a bad sign of things to come, if there was a WP for these topics. So I no longer see this as a productive step for improvement.RaintheOne ^BAM 18:08, 2 December 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Sorry, I didn't want to be the first one on here. I think getting a few people together to co-ordinate efforts is a good idea in theory but I wouldn't be able to devote much time to it personally so, as you say, it's a question of whether there are enough people involved to make it work.
