- The result of the discussion was delete all. This is an interesting closure: Almost all nominated items have been challenged, but all items have a majority favouring deletion. "Party-system" is borderline, but it has been pointed out that search engines treat hyphens as equivalent to spacebars, so the general conclusion is that this does not help readers either. Party systemic makes no sense for redirect. No one talks about a party system this way. Sticking two words together not correct either. Neelix redirects. Legacypac (talk) 21:52, 28 December 2015 (UTC)

- delete all Another set of Neelix "trap any random thing someone one types in" redirect variations. Mangoe (talk) 20:44, 1 January 2016 (UTC)
- Delete most while keeping both 'Party-system' and 'party-systems' as they actually are helpful, given that it's not wrong to use a hypen (just non-standard). I could maybe also see keeping 'partysystem' as a simple spelling error, but I don't really care on that honestly. CoffeeWithMarkets (talk) 21:13, 1 January 2016 (UTC)
- Hypenated ones do not aid search at all. Search engines ignore the hyphen - try it on site or Google. No value in keeping incorrect variations like this. Legacypac (talk) 18:12, 4 January 2016 (UTC)

Hissy
[edit]- The following is an archived discussion concerning one or more redirects. Please do not modify it. Subsequent comments should be made on an appropriate discussion page (such as the redirect's talk page or in a deletion review). No further edits should be made to this section.
- The result of the discussion was retarget to tantrum. All participants in this discussion agree that this redirect should be changed, with a slight majority favouring retargeting to tantrum. Deryck C. 23:24, 6 January 2016 (UTC)
Unclear what this refers to. Nothing like "Hissy" is mentioned at the target article, nor was it when the redirect was created. The creator was indef'd. I'm not sure why. --BDD (talk) 17:47, 28 December 2015 (UTC)
- Weak retarget to Tantrum since Hissy fit redirects there. I have never heard the word "hissy" used in any other context as a standalone word that refers to a specific topic. Steel1943 (talk) 18:14, 28 December 2015 (UTC)
- Delete, since no-one is realistically going to search for this. The distorted logic behind this redirect is that Hissy is the name of one of the Cacodemons in the Doom videogames, but I can't imagine anyone actually using it as a search term. ‑ Iridescent 21:08, 28 December 2015 (UTC)
- Retarget to List of Beanie Babies#Hissy the Snake as {{R to list entry}}. "Hissy the Snake" is specifically named and referred to as "Hissy", while hissy fit isn't used without "fit". The word isn't present in the Cacodemon article or the Doom articles. There is a small mention of a character named Hissy in the Legion of Super-Pets article, but it seems limited to single episode of another show, where it was parodied.—Godsy(TALKCONT) 23:12, 28 December 2015 (UTC)
- Retarget to tantrum. I have heard people use the word "hissy" as an adjective to describe the state of being in a "hissy fit" (e.g., "don't get hissy with me, young man"). -- Notecardforfree (talk) 00:49, 29 December 2015 (UTC)

I'd guess that an overwhelming majority (probably 100%) of people searching for Sunshade are expecting an article about parasols, not a page of sci-fi speculation about controlling the Earth's temperature by means of launching 16 trillion satellites to blot out the sun. ‑ Iridescent 17:24, 28 December 2015 (UTC)

- Comment: Personally, I think of a certain type of awning. (There is a plural version as well. Since they should go to the same place, I've added it.) -- Tavix (talk) 21:06, 28 December 2015 (UTC)
- It could also legitimately refer to those big sheets of cardboard you block car windows with in hot climates. Given that all the legitimate variations I can think of are variants of "device to keep cool", retargeting to Shade (shadow) would probably be the most sensible option, loath as I am to point readers to an article so poor. ‑ Iridescent 21:11, 28 December 2015 (UTC)
- Delete. Inaccurate. Softlavender (talk) 21:51, 28 December 2015 (UTC)

- Retarget to Shade (shadow), notwithstanding the fact that it is in need of serious improvement. -- Notecardforfree (talk) 00:53, 29 December 2015 (UTC)

All incorrectly spelled, and redirects differentiated by slight punctuation differences are ignored by search engines. Partial title matches clutter up search too. Just clean them out. Legacypac (talk) 15:33, 20 December 2015 (UTC)
- Keep all. These aren't misspelled; they are plausible search variations of "Inc. --> Incorporated", as well as variations of the titles with/without punctuation. Thus, these are all plausible search terms. Steel1943 (talk) 17:06, 21 December 2015 (UTC)
- Comment. These are not all the redirects to the target, just the ones I deemed redundent as minor variations that make search harder. All the Yum ones are misspellings as they lack the ! which is an important part of the name. Legacypac (talk) 17:38, 21 December 2015 (UTC)
- Strongly disagree with the second sentence. The exclamation point arguably fails MOS:TM. People don't regularly yell when they say "Yum Brands". --BDD (talk) 17:57, 21 December 2015 (UTC)
- Keep all - They are reasonable redirects per above.—Godsy(TALKCONT) 04:42, 24 December 2015 (UTC)

Pharisæus is not an English word. Pharisaist is barely an English word, excessively obscure. Pharisaists is even more obscure (under 400 ghits) and supposed meaning is unclear from my searches. Neelix specials. Legacypac (talk) 14:59, 20 December 2015 (UTC)
- Delete Pharisæus, and keep the others. "Pharisaism" is relatively commonly encountered (see the creator's comment), and Pharisaist(s) would be a reasonable form of the same title, but I'm not particularly sure what "Pharisæus" even is, aside from the Latin meaning that we ought to ignore because the Pharisees aren't and weren't a group particularly associated with the Romans or the Latin language. - Keep per WP:REDIRECTSARECHEAP. This is a plausible enough redirect and the concept of Peep Bowling originated out of the Roller Coaster Tycoon games themselves. Safiel (talk) 17:01, 28 December 2015 (UTC)

- God Manifest → Antiochus IV Epiphanes (links · history · stats) [ Closure: keep/retarget/delete ]
An English translation of a heathen king's name is not the obvious place to direct this phrase. Manifestation of God is one possible target, but God manifest is a theme in the Bible and a direct reference to Jesus Christ. Delete as ambiguous or target to Names and titles of Jesus in the New Testament where the Biblical idea should be covered but is not currently. Legacypac (talk) 16:06, 20 December 2015 (UTC)

- There are several potential targets to consider here. For example, I think Avatar, Theophany, and Divine presence should be considered as possible targets. However, I agree that we should ultimately retarget to Manifestation of God as the closest fit semantically, if not conceptually. -- Notecardforfree (talk) 05:39, 28 December 2015 (UTC)

Assorted random placements of the little dots above letters. Highly unlikely search terms created by Neelix Search engines just treat these all the same so they serve no use. Legacypac (talk) 03:19, 28 December 2015 (UTC)

- Delete unhelpful redirect from partial match; a guy with this middle name is hardly more likely to be where searchers expect to end up than any of the other partial matches or search results on these short strings of letters. Also, any {{R from typo}} here would have an Wp:XY problem; e.g. dowl could be a letter-omission typo for dowel, but just as likely an off-by-one-key typo for fowl. 210.6.254.106 (talk) 12:59, 2 January 2016 (UTC)
