Page was created in October 2007 and has not developed since. It merely says that the subject was a Parsi and a philanthropist - no assertion of notabilty and no detail to aid assessment of notability. Google search throws up Wiki copies but nothing of note. Delete.I can't find anything other than WP:MIRRORs; does not meet WP:GNG. Could go WP:A7 as being "a member of the Parsi community and amongst prepartition Karachi's philanthropists" in no way infers importance. - Strong Keep. Did anybody bother to check Google News, Google Books. Clearly meets notability criteria. If more references are needed, [1] [2], warrior4321 07:06, 15 November 2009 (UTC)[reply]
- Comment. None of the references from gbooks or gnews say anything about the subject of this AfD, he is either mentioned in passing or a part of a list. The two other references put forth (one of which is the lone gnews hit) likewise only mentions the subject, saying nothing about him other than that he donated land. - Obvious Keep Searching google books for Jehangir Kothari (or Jehangir H. Kotahri) finds numerous references, including a book written by him. He obsviously was a famous man in his days (some references refer to him as "world famous Parsee Globe-trotter, who went round all the Continents nine times, built Lady Lloyd's Pier ..."), left his mark on both Karachi and Bangalore, has buildings, halls, city areas named after him and his wife, and was even knighted. Unfortunately most of the Google book references are only available as snippets, but even those makes it obvious that he easily meets WP:BIO standards. - Also:
- Sydney Morning Herald interviews him and covers his trip to Australia, during his 11th world tour, and says that he is, "noted equally for his contributions to the Imperial funds during the war, for his generous gifts to his native city of Karachi, and for his activities as an unofficial ambassador of the British Empire in all parts of the world."
- Newspaper report during his 1923 visit to melbourne during his 6th world tour.
- The New York Times covered his visit to NY in its Nov 28, 1931 edition.
