Monal (software)
Appearance
Monal is an XMPP messaging client software for MacOS, and application for iOS.[1] It's among the rare XMPP software,[2] running on Apple platforms, to support both OMEMO and Jingle protocols.[3]

In 2024, Monal was removed from the Chinese AppStore from Apple, on the request of Chinese authorities, along with Telegram, Signal and Whatsapp.[5]
Features
[edit]Financial
[edit]The project is partly financed by the NextGen "NGI" investment fund in Netherlands, from European Funds.[7]
