Publicity Event Producer Film Consultant

Briege McGarrity is an award-winning publicist who grew up in Northern Ireland and is based in New York City. She has been in the entertainment business for nine years and started her career as a hospitality coordinator event for the Cinemagic World Screen Festival for Young People. She was appointed Creative Director of the New York International Independent Film and Video Festival in 2001.

Briege has designed and implemented over 20 Film PR campaigns, produced red carpet premieres, industry panels, award shows as well as overseeing award evaluation for more than 10,000 features, shorts and documentary entries. Briege has also written several articles for Independent Film Quarterly, the leading magazine for film buffs and industry professionals, Most recently, Briege was the director of publicity and special events for The Stop Group, a full service entertainment company headquartered in SoHo, New York.

Briege formed Designer Events Company in the Spring of 2005 and has implemented successful PR campaigns and several high-profile events including, fashion shows, launch parties, awards shows and film festival events.

Briege holds an honors degree in Communications and a M Phil degree in Sociolinguistics from the prestigious King’s College Aberdeen, Scotland.
