Too Cool (Scotty Too Hotty, Rikishi and Grand Master Sexay)

Too Cool was a professional wrestling tag team and stable most notably active in the World Wrestling Federation between 1999 and 2001 and returned shortly in 2004.

History

The duo of "Too Sexy" Brian Christopher and Scott "Too Hot" Taylor were originally a tag team called as "Too Much." The two of them portrayed pseudo-homosexuals. Their gimmicks and identities were eventually changed. Christopher became Grand Master Sexay, Taylor became Scotty Too Hotty (later Scotty 2 Hotty) and Too Cool was born, debuting on television during an episode of Sunday Night Heat. Rikishi Phatu would join the team in late 1999. Too Cool would dance around the ring while lights flashed and dance music played, an act that quickly became popular with fans. All three members had a pair of yellow sunglasses, which they would don before dancing.

The trio were all participants in the 2000 Royal Rumble. Ironically, Rikishi eliminated both of his teammates. Nothing ever came about from him doing this. Their success would peak later in the year when Taylor and Christopher defeated Edge and Christian for the WWF Tag Team Championship on an episode of RAW is WAR on May 29, 2000, while Rikishi would defeat Chris Benoit for the Intercontinental Championship on June 20.

Rikishi left the group after his heel turn in late 2000. The group ceased to exist in 2001 when Taylor was sidelined in 2001 with a broken ankle, and Christopher was released from the WWF in 2001 after he was detained while attempting to cross the American-Canadian border with illegal drugs in his possession. Rikishi would eventually become a face, and he and Taylor would later teamed together on SmackDown! to win the WWE Tag Team Titles in 2003, but failed to recapture their former popularity.

Too Cool 2

In Memphis Wrestling a promotion with good links to WWE (namely Jerry Lawler, Brian "Grand Master Sexay" Lawler's father) a new group going by the name of Too Cool 2/Too Cool II formed by Brian Christopher (Grand Master Sexay) which consisted of Tim Grind & Flex, these two are former Southern Tag Team Champions together. They have also won the WWC Tag Team Titles in a 2 on 1 match for both sets of belts on Memphis Wrestling.

Possible Reunion

As Of 8-20-06 there has been talk of Too Cool coming to the WWE Smackdown with Scotty 2 Hotty, Grandmaster Sexay, Rikishi Phatu and former TNA star Ron Killings.
