Wrong Photo Caption

[edit]

It appears that the photo for Diamandis has changed to a headshot of him at an Xprize event, but the caption says it's him experiencing zero g in the vomit comet. Will that photo be replaced or is it best to just delete the caption? Slainte12 (talk) 19:44, 17 August 2015 (UTC)[reply]

What degree?

[edit]

The article says that Diamandis has a "B.S. in molecular biology". As far as I can tell, MIT does not offer a BS degree specifically designated as in molecular biology-- they do have a degree "computer science and molecular biology", but this is new-- it wasn't offered back in the '80s. What is his correct undergraduate degree? Biology? (This article http://tppserver.mit.edu/esd801/lunch.html seems to say his undergraduate degree is in aerospace engineering.) @Lulu71339: It was actually molecular genetics. Emir of Wikipedia (talk) 15:08, 30 July 2017 (UTC)[reply]
A citation would be nice, since as far as I can tell MIT does not offer degrees in molecular genetics either. Lulu71339 (talk) 19:52, 6 September 2017 (UTC)[reply]
@Lulu71339: The citations are the ones used in the article.[1][2][3] Emir of Wikipedia (talk) 20:46, 6 September 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Yes. All three of these references are to Diamandis saying he has a degree is in molecular genetics. This degree does not exist. We need a reliable source other than Peter Diamandis that says what his degree actually is. Lulu71339 (talk) 14:51, 7 September 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Hmm the link you posted is now down but it is archived at http://archive.is/2013.08.30-195810/http://tppserver.mit.edu/esd801/lunch.html . Perhaps we should add template:Third-party inline? Emir of Wikipedia (talk) 15:22, 7 September 2017 (UTC)[reply]

I am rephrasing the article slightly to remove the statement that his BS was a degree in "molecular genetics" from MIT. Yes, searching shows that this statement is repeated many times across the web (in some but not all cases, sourced from this Wikipedia article). Nevertheless, since MIT did not offer a degree in molecular genetics in 1983, I think that until we can verify this information from MIT, there is a high likelihood that we are helping to spread misinformation here. Organized Covid Superspreader Event

[edit]

These seem relevant, especially in stark contrast of the categorization of "Life extensionist"
