Erfan Zamani (Persian: عرفان زمانی) (1999 – November 3, 2022) was an Iranian protester that was killed by police. He was one of the victims during the Mahsa Amini protests on November 12 in the city of Lahijan.[1][2]

Death

According to eyewitnesses, the Islamic Republic security forces shot Erfan Zamani's kidneys and attacked the people who tried to help him to prevent him from being taken to the hospital, and stood over his head to ensure his death. After some time, he was taken to the hospital, but the resuscitation operation was not successful and finally this 23-year-old was killed.[3]

Days later the city of Siah Khaleh Sar held a vigil for Zamani, but the police used rubber bullets and tear gas to prevent people from gathering.[2]
