Haivoron (Ukrainian: Гайворон) is a town in Kirovohrad Oblast (region) of Ukraine. It serves as the administrative center of Haivoron Raion. Population: 14,344 (2020 est.)[1]

Haivoron is standing on the river Southern Bug.[2][3]

History

Former village in Gaysin uyezd in Podolian Governorate of the Russian Empire.

In 1897 - 1898 a locomotive repair plant was built here.[4]

During World War II, the settlement was occupied by German troops from July 29, 1941 to March 11, 1944.

Town since 1949.[4]

In 1974, the technical school[4] was transformed into a technical college.

In 1989 population was 16 520 people.[5][4]

In 2013 population was 15 214 people.[6]
