  1. (literally) To move from an elevated place by one jump.
    The cat jumped off the table.
  2. (sports, equestrianism) To participate in the final round of an equestrian showjumping event.
  3. (intransitive, slang) To happen; to occur.
    Synonym: go down
    The fight jumped off in my own neighborhood.
