[edit]Inherited from Ottoman Turkish گوگده (göğde), گووده (gövde), گوده (gövde); from Proto-Turkic *käbdä (“upper part of body”).[1] Cognate with Azerbaijani gövdə, Kazakh кеуде (keude) etc.
