Most of the rabid Angelistas have defended his hiding as nothing more than an issue of self-protection against Buffy's fantasy of Angel being staked by Giles, and yet in "Amends," Angel himself finally decided it would be better to die than to ever pose a threat again.

I'm an Angelista who likes Xander too, but Xander irritates me occasionally so I can still go dualistic from time to time. ;-)
    • 2002 December 2, William George Ferguson, “Re: Buffy fan subgroups”, in alt.tv.buffy-v-slayer[3] (Usenet):
The split was between the Angelistas and the Xanderistas.
