Autonomous EV freight developer Einride announced another key milestone today, deploying full-time, commercial operations with longtime partner GE Appliances. The autonomous trucks are navigating between GE’s manufacturing facility and warehouse, demonstrating a case for scaled commercialization in the electric freight industry.

Autonomous technology developer Aurora says it now has enough money to commercially launch its holistic system of self-driving products next year, thanks to a fresh round of public and private funding totaling $820 million. Following the news, Aurora CEO Chris Urmson posted a blog detailing why Wall Street believes in the company and how it intends to use that cash to deliver.

The mobility company intends to use the fresh funds that also includes a Series C equity raise to support all-electric truck production and expand the development of its autonomous and digital fleet management technology.

Autonomous driving technology company TuSimple announced that North American railroad Union Pacific has signed on as its first customer for autonomous freight trucking services. UP will become the first to utilize TuSimple’s technology, which will travel between an Arizona rail yard to first and last deliveries without a driver present in the vehicle and without remote human intervention.
