Mustang GT 5.0 V8 RHD Please write a brief review of your sports car experience Mustang is my son’s favourite car, and was hired to take him to his Prom. Not being a diehard fan of US cars, I was very pleasantly surprised by the latest Mustang – felt very ‘European’ in its handling. Excellent, precise and short-throw-linkage gearbox with light clutch. Short spacing between gear 1–4 for impressive acceleration, but keeps your left hand busy! More of a gap to 5th, and 6th almost overdrive – in relative terms, bearing in mind the V8 torque! Very impressive brakes, even when cold. Steering light and communicative, with excellent feedback, and good feel through power-assistance system. Great driving position, with good visibility all-round, though imposing bonnet a challenge at first in terms of judging where the front of the car is when parking! Familiarity makes is easier! Engine? It’s a big V8 – lots of muscle, lots of torque, and lots of noise! Terrific performance, great handling, and the car actually feels much lighter and smaller to drive than its physical presence suggests. And then there’s the noise! Addictive and just pure V8 music! Grins per mile – off the clock! Fuel per mile – it ain’t a smugmobile Prius! Fantastic! 	I hired the car for my husband’s birthday and he thoroughly enjoyed the experience. He was a little stressed out by the thought of scuffing the wheel trims, and when we parked to go to for a coffee, took photos of the cars either side in case of any damage! He thoroughly loved driving the car though, and having decided he looked good in it, now wants his own Aston Martin even more.

The Audi fitted the bill, but it is not an easy car in which to operate the console. Nothing to do with Drive Southwest, but it reminded me why I always looked at Audi, BMW and Mercedes when I changed my car, but never even bothered with a test drive in the Audi 🙂 But it was comfortable! (Good job I knew where I was going, though).

Alyssia and Mark worked with the preceding hirer and got the vehicle back earlier and arranged for me to collect it at a venue much closer to my venue. Perfect result – and the car was excellent! Spotlessly clean on pick-up, the Continental was the perfect balance between a sports car and a super-comfortable car in which to eat up the miles, especially as I was taking 2 passengers. I used the vehicle for a prom which was a real head turner my daughter was very pleased with it. I really enjoyed the 3.0 v8 engine the speed was incredible handled really well. Nice solid car and very well maintained loved the colour the sound the handling everything about it. Left hand drive was not an issue very easy to overcome the steering wheel being on the other side. The weather was beautiful sunshine, so top down all the way. Arriving and staying at the castle made me feel like a princess! I loved every minute-24hrs was not long enough. The merc slk is such a comfortable drive. Driving the coastal routes & Cotswolds would not have been half as much fun in our old banger!!! No-one would know you’ve hired it coz it doesn’t have any stickers or signs. If I havnt bought one, I would definitely do this experience again. Thank you. Thornbury Castle Please write a brief review of your sports car experience A fantastic experience for my husband’s 50th birthday surprise. The booking service was professional and extremely helpful. I spoke to both Wayne and Mark pre arrival via the phone and email and they were able to answer all my questions with speed. The car was ready on arrival and looked immaculate. Mark went through everything within the car before we set off and made sure my husband, as the driver, was happy. We were lucky with the weather and was able to drive with the top down for the 2 days. Would definitely recommend DSW to anyone wanting a fun experience and we hope to try another car again soon. It seems their staff are a mixture of experience and newbies. One or two nights would be all you would want to stay as I understand the menu does not vary much but for the purposes of a car hire/hotel package it hit the right note. FYI.

I had a great overview of the vehicle and its controls when collecting the vehicle, and the vehicle was presented in wonderful condition (jaw drop gorgeous) We had the vehicle to take our son to his leavers ball and boy did she turn heads, I think she was the star of the night. We also took her to St Stevens place to see a movie and again you could see people in all the restaurants looking at us arrive and park up and put the roof up, my wife and I felt like stars in this car. I would recommend anyone to rent from Drive South West, as the team are great and have such a passion for cars. To sum up it felt like an honour being able to drive this beautiful British bruiser and a memory that we as a family will never forget. After a tour of the car we jumped in and headed to the train station to drop Mark off. It soon became apparent what a monster this car was. After an hour just cruising and getting used to it I tickled the throttle in 3rd gear and nearly wet my pants! What a beast! Even though it goes like a stabbed rat it is surprisingly easy to drive. The acceleration is just astonishing, if you can afford this car get it. Mark and Wayne were extremely professional leading up to the day they dropped the car off. On the day the car was due to arrive Mark let me know early that morning what time he’d arrive and he arrived bang on time. A great company, a great car and an experience I will never forget. The Boxster was a delight to drive, an experience made better by the good weather, which enabled us to have the top down all weekend.
