- Disney+ greets us with the dark faces of Park Eun-bin (Castaway Diva) in Hyper Knife’s newest stills, directing her wrath at Sol Kyung-gu (The Whirlwind) – the teacher who ruins her doctor career. Slated to premiere on March 19, the crime-thriller also stars Yoon Chan-young (High School Return of a Gangster) and Park Byung-eun (The Bequeathed). [Sports Donga]
- Choi Min-shik (Big Bet, Exhuma) is reviewing an offer to play a literature professor in a new series called The Boy in the Last Row, based on the Spanish play El chico de la última fila by Juan Mayorga. Aiming to start filming within the year, production for the 6-episode remake has PD Kim Gyu-tae (The Trunk, Our Blues) directing and screenwriter Jang Myung-woo (My Mother the Mermaid) adapting the scripts. [Osen]
- Kim Ji-won (Queen of Tears) is in talks for a medical noir and mystery titled Doctor X – the White Mafia Era (roughly translated), which seems to be (loosely?) based on the Japanese series Doctor X. But will there be another Vincenzo cameo, inquiring minds want to know. Helmed by PD Lee Jung-rim (Revenant) with writing by Pyun Sung-geun, the series is in discussions to air on SBS and is expected to start filming later this year. [Newsen, Star News]
- It’s been busy on the JTBC front with new posters coming out for The Art of Negotiation, proclaiming the coming of Lee Je-hoon (Chief Detective 1958) as our silvery M&A expert. Teaming up with attorney Kim Dae-myung (Light Shop), they’ll be calling corporate warfare against chairman Sung Dong-il (The Tale of Lady Ok) and CFO Jang Hyun-sung (Flex x Cop) when the office drama begins on March 8. [JTBC]
- JTBC’s Waiting for Gyung-do is also well underway, confirming casting for Won Ji-ahn (Squid Game 2). Playing a troublemaker chaebol and ex-girlfriend of journalist Park Seo-joon (Gyeongseong Creature 2), the enemies-to-lovers rom-com will reunite our pair when Park’s article causes Won’s marriage to end in scandal. Production is being led by PD Im Hyung-wook (King the Land) and writer Yoo Young-ah (Divorce Attorney Shin). [JTBC]
- In the meantime, promos continue on tvN with a new showcase of our spudster team in the character posters for The Potato Lab. Starring Lee Sun-bin (Boyhood) and Kang Tae-oh (Extraordinary Attorney Woo), as well as Lee Hak-joo (Parole Examiner Lee), Kim Ga-eun (King the Land), and Shin Hyun-seung (Secret Playlist), the office rom-com premieres on March 1, following When the Stars Gossip in the weekend slot. 1. You had me at Park Eun-bin, but it's also a medical crime thriller? I can't wait for this.
3. I haven't seen the Japanese drama (yet), but I do like medical dramas (and Kim Ji-won), so you have my attention.
5. Oh, hey, another reunion romance. They seem to be weirdly obsessed with those currently. Could be fun though.
6. I'm hoping this is fun. I'm not familiar with Lee Sun-bin, but Kang Tae-oh hasn't disappointed me yet (so he better not start now).

1. This'll be more interesting if Park Eun-bin rather than Sol Kyung-gu takes up the villainous role. A mentor sabotaging a protege who's on a career disaster route. Said protege is back for blood, going against her mentor.

Lee Ji Hoon was even not so good at negotiating Kwak Dong Yeon into letting him cook. It was very reluctant and with great distrust

1. Oh! Yoon Chan-young. 🥰 I had forgotten he was in this drama. Hmm, guess now I may have to check this one out. 🤷♀️
2. The premise seems really really good. Wonder if they will cast Moon Woo-jin. 🤔 It is early days yet. So hwaiting!! ✊🏻
3. Ah! Another Trauma Code. No worries, we are up to it!! Doctor X may never fail but K-drama scripts have been known to suddenly derail. So best of luck. The writing team have a lot of source material to rely upon so please team - choose well.
4. Two or even ten glamor shots of Lee Je-hoon are always appreciated. A sliver fox look even more do. Kamsahamnida.
5. Hehehe ... Park Seo-joon is not the Chaebol here. 😱 Well his rom-com *aura* is lit nevertheless. 🔥
6. Ah! the flavors of our characters are interesting. No wonder the ML is "plain salted". 😂 I like the FL. 🥵 Just a question - do we actually have truffle flavored chips!? Like really!!

To give credit where due, his Chaebol avatar has been the benchmark for many many following dramas. 😂 But I'm happy he accepted a rom-com. I think it must have taken quite some convincing.
