Abstract

It is our great pleasure to welcome you to the 26th ACM Conference on Hypertext and Social Media. The ACM Conference on Hypertext and Social Media (HT) has a long-standing tradition of being the premium venue for high quality peer-reviewed research on theory, systems and applications for hypertext and social media. This year, in its 26th edition, HT2015 focuses on the role of hypertext and hyperlink theory on the web and beyond, as a foundation for approaches and practices in the wider community, through contributions related to Digital Connectivity, Data Connectivity, and Digital Humanities. As a result, the conference is concerned with all aspects of modern hypertext research, including social media, adaptation and personalisation, user modeling, linked data and semantic web, dynamic and computed hypertext, and its application in digital humanities. Thus, HT2015 gives researchers and practitioners a unique opportunity to share their perspectives with others interested in the various aspects of modern day hypertext and social media.

The call for papers attracted submissions from Asia, North America, Australia, Europe, and Africa. We have received 60 Full Technical Papers, 17 Short Papers, 14 Poster and Demo Papers. Our program committee reviewed and accepted the following: 24 Full Technical Papers (40%), 10 Short Papers and 6 Poster and Demo Papers. This year's conference also includes two distinguished keynote speakers. Their valuable and insightful talks can and will inspire researchers for the future of hypertext and social media research:

  • The Near Future is Hybrid, Yiannis Laouris

  • From Small Sensors to Big Data: How the Sensor Web is Changing Our World, Barry Smyth
