Testing of the Uniformity of Color Appearance Space

Published: 31 March 2009 Publication History

Abstract

The uniformity of color appearance space is a important yardstick for evaluating color appearance model. This paper is focused on the test of three color appearance spaces CIELAB, IPT and CIECAM02. Several psychophysical data sets were used to evaluate three types of scales and color difference formula in these color spaces. The results show that IPT performs as well as (in some cases performs better than) either CIELAB or CIECAM02.
