Successful requirements management

Published: 01 September 1998 Publication History

Conclusion

By way of a conclusion, the preceding discussion has identified a relatively complex web of interrelationships that need to be managed. Too often the technical details are focused on to the detriment of the sponsoring business.
However, if requirements are to be managed successfully, there is a need for adequate tool support. In my opinion, the requirements management tools which are currently available do not provide the sophisticated level of support needed to adequately manage the complexity of linking requirements, acceptance criteria, constraints, benefits and solutions.
