Managing undergraduate staff: panel discussion

Published: 01 May 2015 Publication History

Abstract

Undergraduate students can be an inexpensive and effective means of augmenting instruction in lower-level computer science courses, serving as tutors and as graders. However, successfully managing undergraduate students in these roles can be tricky. Among other issues, many different strategies are possible for proper training and managing performance. In this session, panelists and other participants will discuss their experiences in managing undergraduate staff, and assess the advantages and disadvantages of different strategies.
