Patch antenna bandwidth enhancement through the use of metamaterials

Published: 25 May 2009 Publication History

Abstract

This paper presents how Metamaterials can be used to enhance Antenna Bandwidth. To this purpose, a particular Metamaterial cell is introduced for which its design parameters are detailed. This cell is then used to enhance the performances of a microstrip antenna which can be found in communication systems.
