An LD-Based Ultra-Low Phase Noise OPLL Circuit Using an Optical Voltage Controlled Oscillator

Abstract

We report a highly precise OPLL circuit employing an optical voltage controlled oscillator and a frequency-stabilized, narrow linewidth LD. An extended OPLL bandwidth of 4 MHz enabled a phase noise as low as 0.6 degrees.
