Microprogramming in large scale architecture

Published: 24 September 1973 Publication History

Abstract

The choice of architectures open to designers of large scale systems seems a bewildering array until certain rules of design can be identified. This presentation has outlined the design choices made in one implementation of a large scale system.
The author of this presentation is not proclaiming that time multiplexed designs are the answer to all problems, but feels this approach, however implemented, should be given serious consideration for processor designs of almost any size system.
