TOP-DOWN systems design

Published: 01 January 1979 Publication History

Abstract

Effective systems design is premised upon a thorough knowledge of the whole system. Such knowledge can best be acquired by gaining insight via an hierarchical approach. Logically, this should begin at the highest level and proceed downward because this is how a system is conceived. This viewpoint will be reinforced by a more detailed consideration of the TOP-DOWN approach highlighting the advantages and reconciling the disadvantages as perceived by this author.
