Book review: Three-Dimensional Machine Vision by Takeo Kanade (Kluwer Academic Publishers)
Abstract
Three-Dimensional Machine Vision edited by Takeo Kanade brings together fourteen papers dealing with three-dimensional range data and written by various researchers in the field. Major topics include 3-D sensors, feature extraction, recognition and complete systems, which are the four sections of the book. Though some of the papers are similar to others by the authors, the papers were generally written for this book. Sensors and recognition algorithms each have 4 papers and each are approximately one-third of the book. Feature extraction and systems each have 3 papers and split the remaining one-third.
