Enhancing the Understanding of Computer Engineering Students in Financial Analysis through Educational Authoring Software

Published: 12 September 2023 Publication History

Abstract

Financial analysis is a systematic set of techniques and tools financial management uses to explore, define, optimize, and evaluate decisions. The financial position and reliance on economic statements of firms are also seen as crucial components of financial analysis, which is a significant factor in making business decisions about the company’s future development. ERP and innovative software systems are being developed to support business processes in the execution of all company activities, and more and more managers rely on automatically generated and visualized data. And how are software engineers being trained to be familiar with financial analytics? This paper presents a training methodology for giving an interdisciplinary course for training software engineers to develop programming models for financial software, specifically addressing financial analysis. Educational authoring software that supports training in the discipline of “Software Systems for Business Modeling” is discussed. Results of an anonymous survey of trainees on the effectiveness and efficiency of using the utility are presented.
