Research on the Influence of Constraints and Balance Adjustment for Large PCTC Structure Strength Assessment

Published: 13 April 2022 Publication History

Abstract

Large PCTC (Pure Car/Truck Carrier) is designed with multiple decks, large depth and spacious cargo hold area without transverse bulkhead, which easily cause large Racking deformation in rolling state. In this paper, the effects of boundary conditions and balance adjustment methods on transverse strength assessment are investigated by deformation and stress distribution analysis of 7800 PCTC hull with hinged design deck. A good comparison has been found among seven calculation conditions results, which shows that different constrains and balance adjustments have great influence on structure mechanical performance assessment.
