CNL-RDF-query: a controlled natural language interface for querying ontologies and relational databases

Published: 29 January 2021 Publication History

Abstract

The most commonly used search engines do not always show the information that the user needs, because they do not take into account factors such as the context or natural language ambiguity. Therefore, other types of search engines that considered these factors emerged in last few years, such as question-answering systems or semantic web-based search engines. In this work, we present CNL-RDF-Query, a controlled natural language interface for querying rdf-based ontologies and relational databases. The system guides users in the construction of queries with the knowledge of domain ontology. Our proposal has been tested in the domain of the IMDb movie repository.
