Volunteering with SIGCSE
Abstract
Like all Association for Computing Machinery Special Interest Groups (SIGs), SIGCSE relies heavily on volunteers for the work it does. Luckily, SIGCSE has a strong base of volunteers willing to help the SIG in its mission of providing a global forum for computing educators. A focus of the current SIGCSE Board has been to make the selection of volunteers for SIGCSE positions as open and inclusive as possible in order to nurture the development of future community leaders. As part of that work, the SIGCSE Board now posts open calls for all Board-approved positions and has held sessions at the 2018 and 2019 Technical Symposium to discuss volunteer opportunities.
